Business leave definition

Business leave means leave taken for the purpose of attending to the business of an employee organization.

Business leave means the use of leave time to attend to the personal business of an employee that cannot be attended to at a time when school is not in session. Business leaves shall be requested at least forty-eight 48 hours in advance. In requesting a business day, a brief general reason will be given, e.g. purchase property, court, lawyer, wedding, graduation, etc. These days shall not be used for any form of recreation including shopping trips, extending weekends, hunting, fishing or camping. Except in the case of an emergency, as approved by the superintendent or his designee, business days shall not be used to begin or extend a holiday or vacation period.

Examples of Business leave in a sentence

  • Employees wishing to be excused for Personal Business leave will not be allowed the leave during the new hire introductory period or during the last two (2) weeks of employment, or the day before or after a holiday, vacation, or sick day except in an emergency, which emergency shall be fully explained and/or documented as soon as possible.

  • Personal Business leave as identified in Section 7.1 and 7.2 shall not be granted for the purpose of extending vacation, break periods or holiday time.

  • Business leave days are to be used only to conduct true and pressing business that cannot be conducted on days or hours other than that of the working schedule.

  • Attendance at any PBA business activities outside of an employee's regular scheduled working hours shall not be deemed as time worked and will not be covered by PBA Business leave hours.

  • Business leave days may not be taken immediately prior to or subsequent to paid holidays or vacation periods except in emergencies.

  • However, Emergency/Personal Business leave days may be used as provided in Article 10.2 of this agreement.

  • Upon request Personal Business leave may be used to cover sick leave prior to leave without pay status.

  • The academy is designed to provide third- through fifth-grade teachers with the knowledge and skills necessary to motivate kids to pursue careers in science and math.

  • Regular part-time employees earn a proportionate share of Personal Business leave which shall be determined by calculating a percentage of the number of hours worked part-time as it relates to a 40 hours per week, 12 months per year position.

Leave taken under this Agreement will be credited against any such statutory entitlement to the full extent permitted by law.

  • Parental leave means leave to bond and to care for a newborn child after birth or to bond and care for a child after placement for adoption or xxxxxx care, for a period of up to sixteen (16) weeks after the birth or placement.

  • Garden Leave means any period during any notice period where Employer requires the Participant to remain available to respond to questions and requests from the Employer, but not to enter into the office(s) of the Restricted Group without the prior written consent of Employer.

  • Mass layoff means a reduction in employment force that is not the result of a business closing and results in an employment loss at a single site of employment during any thirty-day period of twenty-five or more employees, other than part-time employees.

  • Current Sick Leave means those days of sick leave for the current contract year, which leave is granted at the rate of one day of sick leave per month worked, or major part thereof.

Nothing in the Title IX regulations precludes a recipient from placing a non-student employee respondent on administrative leave during the pendency of a grievance process, provided that Massachusetts laws are followed.

  • Working Time Regulations means the Working Time Regulations 1998.

  • Farmworker Household means a household of one or more persons wherein at least one member of the household is a Farmworker at the time of initial occupancy.
