Common use of Jury Duty/Witness Clause in Contracts

Jury Duty/Witness. A Long Term Occasional Teacher shall be granted a leave of absence from duty by reason of a summons to serve as a juror or a subpoena as a witness in any proceedings to which they are not a party or one of the persons charged and shall be paid the applicable earnings as stipulated in Article 18. It is understood that such payment by the Board shall only be for the period of time the Occasional Teacher would have otherwise been employed in the occasional teaching assignment.
