Leave Committee and General Guidelines. The following clauses shall apply to all leaves administered by the Leave Committee in Article except where noted otherwise. of the Committee The Leave Committee shall consist of three (3) members appointed by the Union, three (3) members appointed by the Rainy River District School Board, and the Director or Designate, who will act as secretary to the Committee, receive applications for leave and will be a non-voting member. A member of the Committee appointed by the Teachers and a member of the Committeeappointed by the Board, excluding the Director or Designate, shall act alternately, on an annual basis, as AGREEMENT- Chair and Vice-Chair. The Union and the Board may appoint alternates for the Leave Committee members. Duties of the Committee The Committee will evaluate applications for leave based on the criteria established. The Leave Committee shall, after reviewing all applications submitted, interview applicants, approve or reject such application, and then, report to the Board the names of candidates for Leave. The final selection of Leave shall be made by the Leave Committee and any decision reached must be supported by at least five (5) members of the Committee and have the final approval of the Board. A written explanation outlining the reasons for rejection shall be provided by the Chair of the Leave Committee. The Leave Committeewill be appointed as a standing Committee to monitor the Leave Plans under its jurisdiction.

  • UNION COMMITTEE AND STEWARDS The Employer the right of the Union to appoint or elect two stewards from the members of the bargaining unit. The stewards shall be full-time employees of the Employer who have completed their probationary period. The Union acknowledges that the stewards must continue to perform their regular duties on behalf of the Employer and that so far as possible, all activities of the stewards will be carried on outside the regular working hours of the stewards unless otherwise mutually agreed by the Employer and the Union. The Employer agrees to a negotiating committee composed of two employees whose function shall be to negotiate renewals of this Collective Agreement as provided in Article The negotiating committee shall be regular full-time employees of the Employer who have completed their probationary period. Such employee members of the committee and stewards shall be paid by the Employer for time used during normally scheduled working hours of the employees in negotiations up to and including all Conciliation proceedings, but excluding any Arbitration proceedings. The Union will notify the Employer of the names of the stewards and the names of the members of the negotiating committee in writing and further agrees to advise the Employer in writing promptly of any change in the same. The Employer shall not be obligated to the stewards or the negotiating committee prior to the receipt of the said names. The Employer agrees to furnish the Union, in writing, with a list of supervisors and to advise the Union, in writing, promptly of any change in the same. Where there are matters of mutual concern and interest that would be beneficial if discussed at a Labour-Management committee Meeting during the term of this Agreement, the following shall apply. An equal number of representatives of each party as mutually agreed shall meet at a time and place mutually satisfactory. A request for such meeting will be made in writing at least one week prior to the date proposed and accompanied by an agenda of matters proposed to be discussed, which shall not include matters that are properly the subject of grievance or matters that are properly the subject of negotiations for the amendment or renewal of this Agreement. A representative attending such meeting shall be paid for wages lost from regularly scheduled hours. A Union staff member may attend as a representative of the Union. Meetings will be held quarterly unless otherwise agreed. It is understood that where full and part-time agreements are separate, there shall be one committee only.

  • Time Limits to Present Initial Grievance An employee who wishes to present a grievance at Step 2 of the grievance procedure, in the manner prescribed in Article 9.4, must do so not later than thirty (30) days after the date:

  • Recognition of Union Stewards and Grievance Committee In order to provide an orderly and speedy procedure for the settling of grievances, the Employer acknowledges the rights and duties of the Union Stewards. The Xxxxxxx shall assist any Employee, which the Xxxxxxx represents, in preparing and presenting her grievance in accordance with the grievance procedure.

  • Classification Plan Revisions A. The Employer will provide to the Union, in writing, any proposed changes to the classification plan including descriptions for newly created classifications. Upon request of the Union, the Employer will bargain, in accordance with Article 37, Mandatory Subjects, the effect(s) of a change to an existing class or newly proposed classification.

  • Labour Management Committee (a) Where the parties mutually agree that there are matters of mutual concern and interest that would be beneficial if discussed at a Labour-Management Committee Meeting during the term of this Agreement, the following shall apply.

  • EMPLOYEE-MANAGEMENT ADVISORY COMMITTEE 41.01 The Parties to this Collective Agreement agree to establish an Employee- Management Advisory Committee(s) or the equivalent for promoting harmonious relationships and discussing topics of mutual concern between the employees and the Employer.

  • Labour Management Relations Committee In recognition of the mutual benefits of open communications and on-going consultation between the faculty and the employer, the Labour/Management Relations Committee will meet on a regular basis and have equal representation for the Union and the Employer. The LMRC will serve as an open forum for the free and candid discussion of matters of mutual concern to faculty members and management.
