Common use of Leave for Union Activity Clause in Contracts

Leave for Union Activity. The Employer may grant a leave of absence with pay, to a maximum of six (6) days paid per calendar year, for employees to attend official Union conventions, training sessions and education sessions provided the Employer receives at least four (4) weeks' notice in writing naming the employee(s) for whom leave is desired. Such requests will not be unreasonably denied by the Employer. The Employer will bill the Union within 30 days for the employee's regular salary or wages during the leave of absence, if the employee is replaced.
