Leave of absence without loss of pay may be granted for a death of a dependent relative where the dependent relative is not included in the definition of immediate family in accordance with Article G.4.1, to a maximum of three (3) days, depending on the circumstances and the distance involved. An employee may be granted up to an additional two days of leave with pay, normally based on travel considerations, with the approval of the Superintendent. The employee may be granted up to an additional two days of leave in accordance with Article G.38.   • Leave Without Pay for Personal Needs Leave without pay will be granted for personal needs, in the following manner:

  • Leave of Absence Without Pay A permanent employee may be granted unpaid leave either with the right to return or without the right to return. Exception: No paid leave of any kind will be granted an employee who is on suspension as discipline.

  • Other Leave Without Pay At its discretion, the Employer may grant leave without pay for purposes other than those specified in this Agreement, including enrolment in the Canadian Armed Forces and election to a full-time municipal office.

  • Leave Without Pay for the Care and Nurturing of Pre-School Age Children Subject to operational requirements, an employee shall be granted leave without pay for the personal care and nurturing of the employee's pre-school age children in accordance with the following conditions:

  • Leave Without Pay for Relocation of Spouse (a) At the request of an employee, leave without pay for a period of up to one (1) year shall be granted to an employee whose spouse is permanently relocated and up to five (5) years to an employee whose spouse is temporarily relocated.

  • Parental Leave Without Pay (a) Where an employee has or will have the actual care and custody of a new-born child (including the new-born child of a common-law partner), the employee shall, upon request, be granted parental leave without pay for a single period of up to thirty-seven (37) consecutive weeks in the fifty-two (52) week period beginning on the day on which the child is born or the day on which the child comes into the employee’s care.
