Legal and Civic Duties. A. The District agrees to grant to members of the bargaining unit called for jury duty or as a witness in the manner provided by law, other than as a litigant, leave of absence without loss of pay for time the employee is required to perform jury duty during the employee's regularly assigned work days and hours.
Legal and Civic Duties. Employees shall be granted leave of absence not to exceed five days, to appear in court as jurors or as witnesses other than litigants. The employees shall turn over to the district any jury or witness fees received, minus the cost of mileage and other expenses necessitated by the court appearance. Leaves must be requested within two days of receipt of notice of court appearance. Failure to do so will result in leave without pay. Notices, summons, and subpoenas for court appearance shall be submitted to the district office when requesting leaves.
