Jury Duty and Subpoenas. Any employee called for jury duty or subpoenaed to testify during work hours in any judicial or administrative matter shall be paid his/her full compensation for such time provided the employee shall remit all witness and juror fees (excluding expenses) to the Employer upon return to work. Subpoenas issued in conjunction with litigation between the Association and the Employer will be exempted from this Section.
Jury Duty and Subpoenas. The College recognizes that jury duty is a civic obligation. All adjunct employees called or subpoenaed to serve as jurors or witnesses during any working day on which they otherwise would have been scheduled to work will be paid their normal salary during this period. Such time will not be deducted from any paid leave. All adjunct employees called or subpoenaed to serve as jurors or witnesses will notify the appropriate supervisor as soon as possible.
Jury Duty and Subpoenas. Faculty/Associate Faculty members shall be granted a paid leave to appear as a witness in court other than as a litigant, to serve on a jury, or to respond to an official order from another governmental jurisdiction for reasons not brought about through connivance or misconduct of the member. Faculty/Associate Faculty shall pay to the district any per diem fees paid by the court for their jury duty service or may waive the per diem fee. Members shall return to work during any day in which they do not have to report to court.
Jury Duty and Subpoenas. 10.10.1. Unit members shall receive paid leave while serving on jury duty or appearing at a legal proceeding in response to a subpoena. If the appearance is less than twenty (20) miles from a unit member’s home, they shall remit to the District the amount they received for attending jury duty or appearing in response to the subpoena exclusive of mileage reimbursement.
10.10.2. Unit members returning from jury duty leave shall be returned to the position held by the employee prior to the time of the leave.

Regular full-time employees who receive a Jury Duty Summons will receive their regular rate of pay during jury selection and while serving on a jury less any amount received from the Court for jury selection or for attending or sitting on a jury. Employees on jury duty shall furnish the Employer with such statements of earnings as the courts may supply. Employees who are served with a subpoena to attend Court will be dealt with on a case by case basis. Employees subpoenaed by the Union will not be eligible. Regular Part-time +20 employees, who have successfully completed their probationary period with BCAA, who are required to attend court for jury selection or as a juror will receive a rate of pay equivalent to the average of their regular daily pay for the previous 6 months less any amount received from the Court for jury selection or for attending or sitting on a jury.

Employees required to serve on jury duty shall be granted a leave of absence with pay from their assigned duties until released by the court, provided the employee remits to the Agency all fees received from such duties, other than mileage or subsistence allowed, within thirty (30) days from the termination of jury duty. Employees who are witnesses on behalf of, or at the request of, the Agency in any court proceeding or who are subpoenaed in any court preceding by a third party shall be entitled to leave with pay for those hours reasonably necessary to serve as a witness, provided the employee remits to the Agency all fees received from such duties, other than mileage or subsistence, within thirty (30) days from the time the employee appears as a witness. In all other court matters, the employee must obtain approval from the Agency before taking time off. Such time off will be treated as leave without pay.

Employees required to report for jury duty or to answer subpoenas as a witness in behalf of the State of California or any of its agencies shall be granted a leave of absence with pay from their assigned duties until released by the court, provided the employee remits to the City all fees received from such duties other than mileage or subsistence allowances within thirty (30) days from the termination of jury service. When an employee returns to complete a regular shift following time served on jury duty or as a witness, such time falling within the work shift shall be considered as time worked for purposes of shift completion and overtime computation. In determining whether or not an employee shall return to his or her regular shift following performance of the duties, reasonable consideration shall be given to such factors as travel time and a period of rest. When a combination of City work time and jury duty equals 14 or more hours in the 24-hour period immediately before the employee's shift starting time, the employee will be allowed a rest period of nine hours. Any portion of the rest period falling within the employee's work shift will be considered as hours worked and compensated at the straight time rate. This provision does not apply to conditions of bona fide emergency. Bona fide emergency conditions are conditions involving real or potential loss of service or property or personal danger.
Jury Duty and Subpoenas. In keeping with the policy that an employee not suffer a loss of pay while serving as a juror or if subpoenaed as a Crown or Employer witness, the remuneration to be received by the employee on any working day the employee reports for or serves on or as the aforementioned, shall be at the employee's regular rate of pay for the day less jury duty or conduct fees received for that day. The employee will notify the Employer immediately upon receipt of the subpoena or notice to serve as a juror.
Jury Duty and Subpoenas. Teachers subpoenaed as witnesses, in legal actions other than those in which the school district and a teacher of the Association are opposing parties, and teachers called for jury duty shall be responsible for the organization and coordination of their regular school responsibilities and shall receive regular salary payment during the time of their service; any witness fees or compensation for jury duty shall be in addition to their regular salary. Teachers subpoenaed by the school district in any legal action shall be subject to the same conditions and entitled to the same compensation as teachers subpoenaed in matters where the school district and a teacher or the Association are not opposing parties.
Jury Duty and Subpoenas. The board shall pay the regular salary to an employee called for jury duty but shall deduct any compensation received for such duty. An employee who is required or directed by the employer to appear in a legal proceeding shall suffer no loss of salary or benefits.
