Lunch and Break Periods. Each employee whose workday consists of 7 hours or more is entitled to a 1-hour lunch break without pay, approximately mid-way through a workday. Variations to an employee’s standard lunch break may be addressed under Article 20.08 as part of an arrangement for flexible working hours. Each employee whose workday consists of 7 hours or more is also entitled to a paid 15-minute break at an appropriate time during the 1st and 2nd half of the workday. Breaks are to be taken at a convenient point in the flow of duties and employees are to ensure that breaks do not exceed the allotted time period. Paid break time cannot be accumulated and taken as time off.
