Common use of Lunch Periods and Rest Periods Clause in Contracts

Lunch Periods and Rest Periods. Each Unit D employee is granted a thirty (30) minute unpaid duty-free lunch period each work day. Each employee is granted two fifteen (15) minute rest periods during an eight-hour day or shift. An employee may combine the rest period/s with the lunch period and such request will not arbitrarily be denied by his/her/their supervisor. Employees are not permitted to move their break/lunch to the beginning or end of the day unless there are extenuating circumstances and the employee has received prior approval from their supervisor.
