Common use of Meal and Rest Breaks Clause in Contracts

Meal and Rest Breaks. No employee shall be required to work for more than five hours continuously without being entitled to a meal break of not less than half an hour. Rest breaks of 10 minutes each for morning tea and afternoon tea shall be recognised as time worked. Tea, coffee, milk and sugar shall be supplied by the employer at no cost to the employee. Employees who are infant feeding and wish to express milk while at work, may arrange breaks to do so in discussion with their manager.
