Meal and Rest Periods Part Time. Meal periods will be scheduled as near mid shift as possible. Similarly, rest periods will be scheduled as near midway between the meal period and the commencement and finish of a shift. Rest periods for all employees shall not begin until one (I)hour after commencement of work or less than one (I)hour before either the meal period or the end of the shift and meal period. I not be combined with the A daily shift of four (4) hours up to and including five (5) hours will have one (I) paid rest period of fifteen (15) minutes at mid A daily shift of more than five (5) hours, but less than seven (7) hours, will have two (2) paid rest periods of fifteen (15) minutes duration, each which may be scheduled as follows, if mutually agreeable: (a) combine the two (2) rest periods as at mid shift; two (2) rest periods as per usual practice with a one half (112) hour for lunch break unpaid. A daily shift of seven (7) or more hours will have two (2) paid rest periods and one (I)sixty (60) minute unpaid meal period of uninterrupted duration. However, the Company agrees to make allowance for a one half (112) hour lunch if mutually agreeable. The meal period shall start not earlier than three (3) hours, nor later than five (5) hours, after the commencement of the employee’s shift. There shall be no exception to the meal period. Meal periods are without pay. For the purpose of this clause, part-time employees shall not have their schedule hours reduced so as to circumvent the intent of this Article. A part-time employee whose schedule is increased shall be granted meal and rest periods as set out above. If an employee is requested to work two (2) or more hours overtime continuous with the regular shift, will be given a fifteen (15) minute paid rest period. The break will be taken before the commencement of the overtime. an employee is required to work more than four (4) hours overtime, will be granted an optional one half (112) hour unpaid meal period in addition to the above-mentioned rest period. Rest periods If employees do not receive rest periods during a said shift, the employee will be paid at the employee’s rate of pay for the missed break.

  • Meal and Rest Periods Employees shall receive an unpaid thirty (30) minute meal period during each regular workday and two (2) paid rest periods of fifteen (15) minutes each during each eight (8) or ten (10) hour workday. Employees who cannot be relieved of all duties shall be paid at the appropriate rate for their meal period. Meal periods and rest periods shall be administered in accordance with state law. Subject to written mutual agreement meal and/or rest periods may be combined.

  • Meal Breaks and Rest Periods On completion of not less than three hours work after commencement time or on completion of not less than two hours work after the meal break weekly Employees will become entitled to a rest period of ten minutes duration. Such rest period for pay purposes will be treated as time worked.

  • MEAL PERIODS AND REST BREAKS 4.1 Except when required for urgent or emergency work and except as provided in 4.2 no employee shall be required to work for more than five hours continuously without being allowed a meal break of not less than half an hour. 4.2 An employee unable to be relieved from work for a meal break shall be allowed to have a meal on duty and this period shall be regarded as working time. 4.3 Except where provided for in 4.2 an employee unable to take a meal after five hours’ duty shall be paid at overtime rates from the expiry of five hours until the time when a meal can be taken. 4.4 During the meal break or rest breaks prescribed above, free tea, coffee, milk and sugar shall be supplied by the employer. Where it is impractical to supply tea, coffee, milk and sugar free of charge, an allowance of $1.48 per week in lieu shall be paid. This allowance shall continue during all periods of leave except leave without pay. 4.5 Rest breaks of 10 minutes each for morning tea, afternoon tea or supper, where these occur during duty, shall be allowed as time worked.

  • Meal and Rest Breaks (a) The Employer shall make every reasonable effort to organize the work assignment on a shift in such a way as to allow each Nurse to have designated meal and rest break(s) at regular intervals during the shifts. (b) The Employer shall make every reasonable effort to ensure that no Nurse will work longer than five (5) consecutive hours without a break, unless mutually agreed between the Nurse and the Employer. (c) Nurses shall be permitted to combine meal and/or rest break(s) where operationally possible. (d) Operational requirements may require that Nurses remain on the nursing unit or within the facility for their designated meal and rest break(s). (e) Where operational requirements prevent a Nurse from having an uninterrupted meal or rest break(s) and it is not possible to reschedule the missed break(s) or a portion of the break(s) during the remainder of the shift, the Nurse shall be compensated for the portion of the missed meal period or rest period, at a rate of one and one-half times (1.5x) the Nurse’s hourly rate for the period of the rest and meal break(s) missed.

  • Rest Period After Overtime (a) When overtime work is necessary, it will, wherever reasonably practicable, be so arranged that employees have at least 10 consecutive hours off duty between the work of successive days or shifts, including overtime. (b) An employee, other than a casual employee, who works so much overtime between the termination of their ordinary work on one day and the commencement of their ordinary work on the next day, that they have not had at least 10 consecutive hours off duty between those times, will be released after completion of such overtime, until they have had 10 consecutive hours off duty without loss of pay for ordinary working time occurring during such a absence. (c) If, on the instruction of the employer, an employee resumes or continues to work without having had 10 consecutive hours off duty, they will be paid at the rate of double time until released from duty for such period. The employee will then be entitled to be absent until they have had 10 consecutive hours off duty without loss of pay for rostered ordinary hours occurring during the absence.

  • Additional Rest Periods When an employee performs authorized overtime work of at least three (3) hours duration, the Hospital will schedule a rest period of fifteen (15) minutes duration.

  • Rest Period During each normal work day, Saturdays, Sundays, and shift work, employees will be entitled to two (2) ten (10) minute paid rest periods to be scheduled and observed. When working a four (4) day, ten (10) hour schedule, the rest period will be fifteen (15) minutes each. - one (1) rest period at the mid-way point of the first half of the normal hours of work; - one (1) rest period at the mid-point of the second half of the normal hours of work.   • Compensation for Breakage or Non-Commencement of Interest Periods Borrower shall compensate each Lender, as promptly as practicable after written request by such Lender (which request shall set forth the basis for requesting such amounts and shall be conclusive absent manifest error), for all reasonable losses, expenses and liabilities (including any interest paid or calculated to be due and payable by such Lender to lenders of funds borrowed by it to make or carry its Eurodollar Rate Loans and any loss, expense or liability sustained by such Lender in connection with the liquidation or deployment of such funds but excluding loss of anticipated profits) which such Lender may sustain: (i) if for any reason (other than a default by such Lender) a borrowing of any Eurodollar Rate Loan does not occur on a date specified therefor in a Funding Notice or a telephonic request for borrowing, or a conversion to or continuation of any Eurodollar Rate Loan does not occur on a date specified therefor in a Conversion/Continuation Notice or a telephonic request for conversion or continuation; (ii) if any prepayment or other principal payment of, or any conversion of, any of its Eurodollar Rate Loans occurs on a date prior to the last day of an Interest Period applicable to that Loan; or (iii) if any prepayment of any of its Eurodollar Rate Loans is not made on any date specified in a notice of prepayment given by Borrower.
