Service Clerks. Service Clerks hired at ratification 2013 (March 23, 2013) shall have the right to opt in to cross-classification work. Service Clerks who do not opt in to cross classification work are restricted to the following duties:
A. Wrapping groceries and taking them to customers' vehicles and collecting shopping buggies.
B. Complete bottle refunds, sorting of bottles and taking empty bottles to the back of store, where applicable.
C. Stock bags or boxes in checkstand area.
D. Clean in checkstand area (including sweeping only of the checkstand).
E. Price checks and return of perishable goods only from checkstand (but not to include stocking).
F. Cleaning parking lot.
G. Clean spills and breakage.
H. Hang signs and window banners.
I. Getting change for Clerk Cashiers.
J. Pick up all items from sales area for customers going through the checkstands.
K. Water, cleaning and arranging outside garden centre.
(i) Service Clerk - 1st violation - written warning from Union - 2nd violation - two (2) weeks suspension without pay - 3rd violation - termination of employment.
(ii) Bargaining Unit Employee: Directing Service Clerk to violate rules re Service Clerk duties: - Same penalties as Service Clerk, Section 10.07 (i), above.
(iii) Non-bargaining Unit Person: Directing Service Clerk to violate rules re Service Clerk duties: - 1st violation - written warning from Union - 2nd violation - five hundred dollar ($500.00) fine - 3rd and subsequent violations within a twelve (12) month period of the date of the last violation will result in fines of one thousand dollars ($1,000.00) for each violation. Where twelve (12) months has elapsed from the date of the written warning or the last fine without infraction, the Employer is entitled to another notice. Where the Employer has been fined, such fine is to be dispatched to BG Benefit Administrators who will notify the Union of receipt of such fine and the particulars in respect to which violation the fine was paid. BG Benefit Administrators will deposit the monies into the UFCW Union Pension Plan.

i) Service Clerk
Service Clerks. (a) Employees Covered -'Employees classified as Service Clerks who have been employed for sixty (60) days or more shall be eligible to receive only those benefits and working conditions as herein set forth or which are specifically incorporated herein by reference. Provided such employees’ functions are limit ed to personal service to customers and related counter duties, exclusive of production and preparation, the Employer agrees to include em ployes of the following sections and departments under this Article 45: Snack Bars Quick Food Sections Salad Bar Pizza Departments Warm Beer Departments Electronic (TV) Departments Candy and Ice Cream Counter Personnel Bakery Counter Personnel In addition, the Employer will include em ployees of any similar such departments or sec tions, which the Union and the Employer agree to have covered under this Article 45. Any full-time employee in charge of these sections or de partments will be a clerk covered by the clerk rates and employment conditions under this Agreement. Initial xxxxxxx and/or experimentation will not set the precedent for the final rate structure and employment conditions in any of these newly covered departments or sections.
(b) Trial Period - The trial period for Service Clerks shall be the first sixty (60) days of em ployment.

2. Completing bottle refunds, sorting bottles (at the front of the store), and taking empty bottles to back of store. The Union and the Employer reserve the right to amend the location for sorting bottles on a store-by-store basis.
3. Stock bags or boxes in checkstand area.
4. Clean in checkstand area (including sweeping only of the checkstand).
5. Price checks and return of perishable goods only from checkstand (but not to include stocking).
6. Cleaning parking lot.
7. Clean spills and breakage.
8. Change reader board and window banners.
9. Getting change for Clerk Cashiers.
10. Pick up all items from sales area for customers going through checkstand.
11. Water, cleaning, stock and arranging outside garden area. Service Clerks in IGA #2 to: • Sweep entire sales floor. • Return all goods from checkstand area to sales floor. • Change lightbulbs. • Assist in hanging special signage.
(i) Service Clerk
Service Clerks. (2) Part-time employees shall not accumulate seniority over full-time employees. Service clerks will have and accumulate seniority only in their classification and only in their own store.

Service Clerks. It is agreed between the parties with reference to service clerk duties contained in this letter and those duties listed in Section 6.03, that if violation(s) of this letter and/or Section 6.03 occur; then this letter will be considered void immediately upon complaint of the Union. The Union will bring concerns to the attention of the Employer at the Company Head Office and not with management at store level. It is agreed between the parties with reference to Service Clerk duties contained in this letter, and those duties listed in Section 6.03, that the Union will notify the Employer at the Company Head Office of any violation of the Service Clerk duties on a store by store basis. If a further violation occurs at the same store, then this letter will be considered void immediately with respect to that particular store. Duties under this letter are restricted to: - sweeping floor - pull cardboard (not to include facing or stocking) - cleaning (mouldings, windows, shelving, but not to include duties normally performed by cashiers) - pull produce - fifteen (15) minutes only at store closing time (not to include stocking)
Service Clerks. The Employer shall ensure that there are always two (2) weeks of schedules posted, being the current week and the next week’s schedule. If the Employer fails to comply with the above, the Employer shall pay a fine as outlined below to the Kootenay Market #1671 UFCW Pension Plan. Offences within a calendar month: 1st offence $ 50.00 2nd offence $100.00 3rd offence $150.00 4th offence $200.00 A Service Clerk's schedule may not be changed without notice except in the event of absence of other staff due to sickness or accident, or emergencies such as fire, flood, break-down of machinery, or other such instances of force majeure. In all other cases, a Service Clerk must be notified on the day before of any change to his or her schedule or be given an additional two (2) hours' pay. It is understood that if a penalty is paid under Section 5.03, then no penalty shall be paid under Section 7.03.
