Meal Breaks, Rest Periods and Meal Money. Meal Breaks shall be generally scheduled between the fifth and sixth hours of work. The Company may stagger the time of taking meal and rest breaks to meet operational requirements. All employees shall work during meal breaks whenever instructed to do so for the purpose of making good breakdown of plant or upon routine maintenance of plant which can only be done when such plant is idle. In such cases the meal break shall be taken as soon as possible after such work is completed. Meal and Rest Periods are as follows: Rest Period Shift work employees working an eight hour shift are entitled to 45 minutes paid rest breaks consisting of one 15 minute rest break and one 30 minute meal break during the ordinary hours of work being an eight (8) hour shift and 2 x 15 minute rest breaks and one 30 minute meal break on any shift of ten (10), eleven (11) or twelve (12) hours duration.. Meal breaks and rest periods will be taken at a time and manner agreed between the employer and the employees and may be staggered. Meal Allowance An employee who works overtime for more than two hours without being notified on the previous day or earlier that they will be so required to work shall either be provided with a meal by the Company or paid $11.20 for the first meal and subsequent meal, after a further four (4) hours of overtime.

  • Rest Periods and Meal Breaks (a) All employees shall have two (2) fifteen (15) minute rest periods in each work period in excess of six (6) hours, one (1) rest period to be granted before and one (1) after the meal period, provided the staff to child ratio can be maintained. It is understood that meal breaks and rest periods may be combined subject to operational requirements.

  • Meal Breaks and Rest Periods 7.1 Except when required for urgent or emergency work and except as provided in 7.2 below, no employee shall be required to work for more than five hours continuously without being entitled to a meal break of not less than half an hour.
