Mentoring Sessions. 1. Mentoring will occur in a variety of formal and informal settings.
Mentoring Sessions. The mentoring sessions run for approximately eight months. At the end of the mentoring session we formally release you so that you are able to work with another apprentice (or apprentices), and your apprentice can work with a new mentor. The ACDA Mentoring Program goal, however, is to develop ongoing relationships, so we encourage you to continue your relationship on an informal basis.
Mentoring Sessions. Aims: The overall aim for the mentee is to write a novel in a year. (outcome 1) The overall aim for the mentor is, through thoughtful feedback based on their experience of writing and publishing, to help the mentee bring their novel to a publishable standard. How it works: All sessions will be online using remote video conferencing. Before you start the actual mentoring sessions, your mentor will contact you to arrange a 30 minute ‘get to know you’ session. We suggest you use this time to discuss your personal goals for the year, set dates for future meeting/s and get to know a bit more about each other as a person and a writer. There will be 12 mentoring sessions spread over 14 months on dates you will arrange with your mentor to suit you both. The first one is likely to be in October 2023 and the last one in December 2024. The scheme is 14 months long which allows for 2 months with no mentoring sessions. These ‘months off’ can be arranged to suit you and your mentor. The first 11 sessions will be 1 hour long, and in advance of each one your mentor will read up to 2,000 words. The first session will feed back on the writing you sent for your application. You don’t have to send 2,000 words of your novel every time - you can discuss with your mentor how you would like to use the time: they could also give you feedback on, say, a synopsis, or spend a session discussing their experience of publishing – it is up to you. The final session will be 1.5 hours long and your mentor will read your whole novel. 80,000 should be considered a maximum unless by special arrangement with your mentor. If you are writing much shorter novels for younger children, you can arrange with your mentor to send them more than one short novel over the course of the year. You and your mentor are welcome to arrange the sessions to suit you both, as long as you are offered 13 hours contact time over the course of the scheme and a full read of your novel. You will need to send your mentor your writing well in advance so they have time to read it, reflect on it and put together their thoughts. Two weeks is suggested, but work this out with your mentor. For the whole novel, three to four weeks is suggested but again, discuss this with your mentor. The more time they have, the more attention they will be able to give the writing. Limits of mentoring The mentor is not required to give written feedback. The point of having a meeting every month is for you to have an evolving conversation about...

  • Initial Forecasts/Trunking Requirements Because Verizon’s trunking requirements will, at least during an initial period, be dependent on the Customer segments and service segments within Customer segments to whom CSTC decides to market its services, Verizon will be largely dependent on CSTC to provide accurate trunk forecasts for both inbound (from Verizon) and outbound (to Verizon) traffic. Verizon will, as an initial matter, provide the same number of trunks to terminate Reciprocal Compensation Traffic to CSTC as CSTC provides to terminate Reciprocal Compensation Traffic to Verizon. At Verizon’s discretion, when CSTC expressly identifies particular situations that are expected to produce traffic that is substantially skewed in either the inbound or outbound direction, Verizon will provide the number of trunks CSTC suggests; provided, however, that in all cases Verizon’s provision of the forecasted number of trunks to CSTC is conditioned on the following: that such forecast is based on reasonable engineering criteria, there are no capacity constraints, and CSTC’s previous forecasts have proven to be reliable and accurate.
