Mines and Minerals. All mines and minerals in on or under the Premises with full powers of working and extraction (reasonable compensation being made for any damage occasioned to the Premises).
Mines and Minerals. (1) A MLFN has Jurisdiction with respect to the management, regulation, prospecting for, extraction, development, refining, disposition and trade, barter or sale of mines and minerals, precious and base, including sand and gravel, on or forming part of MLFN Lands.
(2) The Jurisdiction referred to in Subsection (1) does not extend to:
(a) oil and gas, which matter is dealt with in Section 21.03;
(b) “atomic energy” and “prescribed substances” as defined in the Atomic Energy Control Act;
(c) “nuclear energy” and “nuclear substances” as defined in the Nuclear Safety and Control Act; or
(d) those matters dealt with in the Explosives Act.
(3) In the event of an Inconsistency or Conflict between a MLFN Law enacted in accordance with Subsection (1) and any applicable federal or provincial law, the MLFN Law will prevail to the extent of the Inconsistency or Conflict.

The Permittee shall allow Canada the right to permit any other Person to explore, search for, drill, remove and dispose of the oil, gas, minerals and petroleum in, on or under the Permit Area, and for that purpose to drill xxxxx, lay pipelines and build such tanks, stations and structures as may be necessary and to take onto the Permit Area such equipment as may be required for these operations, subject to such conditions as the Minster and the Permittee may deem proper for the protection of the Permittee’s rights granted hereunder and necessary for the safety and protection of the works and subject to the observations, performance, execution and compliance by Canada or any Person authorized by Canada of all applicable laws, by-laws, rules, regulations, requirements, orders, directions, ordinances and the like of every federal, provincial, municipal or Band authority or agency.
