Minimum Hours. (a) Every reasonable effort will be made to ensure that no regular employee is assigned to work less than four hours in a given day with the exception of emergency situations. (b) An employee reporting to work but unable to commence or continue his/her duties for reasons beyond the control of the Employer, shall be required to immediately report the situation to his/her Supervisor. Where possible, the employee shall be reassigned to an alternate worksite. Where no alternate work is available, the employee shall receive payment for the assignment to a maximum of four hours straight-time pay or, where the Employer is reimbursed for greater than four hours payment, for the number of hours reimbursed to the Employer. (c) Assignments cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice shall not result in loss of pay to the employee, provided the Employer is reimbursed for the service. (d) If an employee is required to attend to a deceased client he/she shall be paid for all hours worked in accordance with the collective agreement. An employee shall not suffer loss of pay for assignments that are re-assigned due to the employee being required to attend to a deceased client. The employee will be paid the greater of the hours worked or the hours scheduled for that day.
