Nature of Leave. The parental leave period will consist of any form of annual, sick, personal, holiday or leave reserve fund leave accrued or otherwise available to the employee under this Agreement and USM policies, to be supplemented as necessary by the Institution with additional paid leave days to attain an eight (8) week period of paid parental leave.

Nature of Leave. This leave is an unpaid leave, provided: A. For leave requested under 1.A, 1.B, or 1.C, the District may require the employee to substitute any accrued paid vacation, personal business or family leave provided by the District; B. For leave requested under 1.C or 1.D, the District may require or the employee may choose to substitute any accrued paid vacation, personal business, medical or sick leave provided by the District.

Nature of Leave. Parental leave generically encompasses long parental leave, short parental leave or adoption leave. For the purpose of clause 2.2 parental leave refers to leave taken by the spouse of the pregnant or adoptive employee and is exclusive of maternity and adoption leave.
