Leave Reserve Fund. Employees who have exhausted all earned or granted paid leaves, Advanced Sick Leave, Extended Sick Leave, and compensatory time, if any, may be eligible for additional leave from the Leave Reserve Fund consistent with the other eligibility and usage requirements contained in USM Policy VII-7.11 concerning the Leave Reserve Fund.

1. For each Coalition Institution, the number of FLSA classified Non-Exempt employees whose requests for LRF usage were approved and the total number of hours and minutes approved.
2. For each Coalition Institution, the number of FLSA classified Non-Exempt employees whose requests for LRF usage were denied.
Leave Reserve Fund. Employees shall have access to the USM Leave Reserve Fund pursuant to the eligibility criteria of that fund.
Leave Reserve Fund. A regular status employee who has completed at least one (1) year of service with an institution in the University System of Maryland, or someone on the employee’s behalf, may submit to the Executive Director, Human Resource Services, a written request to use leave from the University System of Maryland Leave Reserve Fund (LRF). A request for leave under this section shall include the following information:
a) Documentation authenticating the employee’s temporary medical disability and the approximate dates the leave begins and the employee will be released to return to work or next scheduled medical appointment date.
b) Specific number of days requested.
c) Proof that all earned paid leaves (sick, annual, personal, holiday, advanced and extended sick leaves and compensatory leave) have been exhausted.
d) Proof that the employee is not facing administrative/disciplinary action. The maximum number of days which may be requested from the LRF shall not exceed one (1) day for each month of creditable University and State service. The Executive Director or designee will determine whether the employee meets the requirements above and recommend approval of leave not to exceed the number of days requested by the employee. Leave under the reserve fund will not be denied if the above criteria is met. Personal leave unused by an employee shall be remitted to the Leave Reserve Fund available for University employees. The Leave Reserve Fund provides paid leave to full time and part-time employees who become temporarily medically disabled.
