New Educator Orientation i. For bargaining unit employees hired before the start of the academic year, the Union shall be provided thirty (30) minutes to orient new members of the district during an August/September orientation to be scheduled during orientation hours. ii. For employees who are hired after the first orientation as described in section “i” above, the Employer shall schedule and conduct one (1) new employee orientation in December/January for any new employee hired. The Employer shall provide thirty (30) minutes during this new employee orientation, as scheduled by the Employer. The Employer shall provide release time for new employees to attend and two members of the Union to conduct the orientation with no loss of pay in that the employees shall attend such meetings in lieu of a “department night”.

New Educator Orientation. In addition to the normal work year, newly-hired educators may be required to attend up to seven (7) days of orientation/in-service prior to the beginning of the school term, for which they will be paid $75.00 for each day attended. Newly- hired educators may also be required to attend four follow-up, after school orientation/in-service meetings during the school year. Such meetings shall not extend beyond 5:30 p.m.

  • Orientation The Employer shall provide planned and paid Orientation Programs of such content and duration as it deems appropriate taking into consideration the needs of the Employer and the Nurses involved. Such Nurses will not be considered part of core staffing during their Orientation Program nor will they be provided with primary assignments.

  • In-Service Education The parties recognize the value of in-service both to the employee and the Employer and shall encourage employees to participate in in-service. All employees scheduled by the Employer to attend in-service seminars shall receive regular wages.
