Annual Paid Sick Leave Fifteen (15) days sick leave per year shall be earned by an employee at the rate of 1.25 days for every month that an employee is employed.
Paid Sick Leave Employees shall earn and be granted paid sick leave according to the following provisions:
Unused Sick Leave The accrual of unused sick leave hours is unlimited. The City and the Union commit to the evaluation and establishment of a mutually beneficial non-use of sick leave incentive and pay-out policy. Until such time that a policy is established, accumulated sick leave shall be compensated as follows: Upon retirement from the City service, an employee shall be paid sixty percent (60%) of his accumulated sick leave, with the rate of payment based upon his regular pay at the time he retires. Upon the death of an employee, his beneficiary shall be paid sixty percent (60%) of his accumulated unused sick leave, with the payment based upon his regular pay at the date of his death.
Unpaid Sick Leave The City Manager shall, upon the advice and recommendation of the City physician, grant unpaid sick leave for up to one (1) year upon application of any employee whose paid sick leave is exhausted. Any extension of such leave shall be subject to the Civil Service Board rules.
Compensation for Unused Sick Leave 1. Employees who enter County service after July 1, 1979, shall not be eligible for compensation for any of their unused sick leave credits.
Minimum Salaries 12.1 The minimum base salary for all Bargaining Unit members shall be as follows: Rank Effective 9/1/2016 Professor $77,510 Assoc. Professor $62,520 Asst. Professor $51,325 Instructor $43,835 Senior Librarian $77,510 Assoc. Sr. Librarian $66,270 Assoc. Librarian $60,730 Asst. Librarian $51,325 Beg. Librarian $43,835 Faculty Members earning a base salary below the effective minima shall move to the new minima and receive any across-the-board and compression increase under Article 10 on his or her minima. Faculty Members who will receive regional campus increases under Article 10 of this Agreement shall receive those increases before any adjustment to meet the minimum salary required by this Article.
Payment for Unused Sick Leave a. An employee with less than ten (10) years of continuous University service, as defined herein, who separates from the University shall not be paid for any unused sick leave. For employees appointed on or before 1/7/03 University service includes continuous employment by the University or the State of Florida.
Vacation Cash Out In each calendar year, an employee may make a one-time request to cash out and receive payment for up to forty (40) hours of vacation. In order to be eligible to cash out vacation hours, the employee must be a regular status employee and have a remaining vacation balance of sixty (60) hours or more. Vacation leave that has been pre-approved will be considered when the request is made in order to determine if they will maintain the minimum vacation balance requirement.
Family Sick Leave An employee may use Family Sick Leave for the illness of a member of the employee's immediate family who requires the care and assistance of the employee. Up to eighty (80) hours per calendar year of the employee’s accumulated unused sick leave may be used for this purpose.
BEREAVEMENT ALLOWANCE 16.01 (a) The employer agrees to allow employees leave of absence, without loss of pay for five consecutive regular working days (calculated at straight time at the base hourly rate) in the event of the death of a parent, spouse or child, provided the time is required to look after funeral arrangements or family needs.
