Obligation to Continue Insurance Payments Sample Clauses

Obligation to Continue Insurance Payments. The Employer's obligation to make monthly insurance premium payments shall only occur during months when the employee is actually performing work for the Employer; provided, however, that the Employer shall continue to make such payments during the months of July and August for employees who worked for the Employer during at least six (6) of the months from September through June of the preceding school year or who retire but are not yet eligible for retiree health insurance. In the event that an employee eligible for insurance coverage under this Agreement is discharged, quits, retires and is eligible for retiree health insurance, resigns, or commences an unpaid leave of absence, the Employer shall have no obligation or liability whatsoever for making any insurance premium payment for any such employee or their lawful dependents beyond the month in which the discharge, quit, retirement, resignation, or unpaid leave of absence commences. Employees on Employer approved leaves of absence may continue insurance benefits on a month by month basis by paying to the Employer, in advance, the amount of the next month's premium for that employee and/or their lawful dependents, subject to the approval of the insurance program. The Employer shall resume payment of insurance premiums for eligible employees who return to work from layoff or unpaid leaves of absence as of the date of the employee's return to work.
