Old Business. 9.1 Feedback from the January 17, 2023 and April 12, 2023 Oversight Committee (OC) Meetings: Ms. Xxx introduced Xxxxxxxx Xxxxxx as the new representative to the Staff Working Group (SWG) on behalf of Broward County Public Schools. After the introduction, Xxxxx Xxxxxxxx discussed some of the take-aways from the Oversight Committee Meetings: a. He discussed findings from the 2021 & 2022 annual reports in regards to consistent non- compliance in sections 8.2 and 8.7 of the annual reports, in which some cities have not taken action to amend their Comprehensive Plan and Land Development Regulations to be in compliance with the level of service, hence a letter of non-compliance was sent to the cities. The chair of the OC, Xx. Xxxxx, stated that he would like to annual report to be more collaborative with the cities in hopes that this would rectify these issues before the final report is issued. b. Xxxxxxx Xxxxxxx from the OC suggested that a refresher course/tutorial be provided to the SWG regarding the significance of the SCAD letters so that the cities don’t approve development without obtaining a SCAD letter first. c. The OC suggested having a joint meeting with the Broward League of Cities. However, after speaking with the chair of the Broward League of Cities, the chair decided that this was not necessary since the OC have five members from the Broward League of Cities that can report any information that is necessary. d. Xxxxxxx Xxxxxxx from the OC suggested a brief tutorial regarding Growth Management for the new members of the committee. e. It was also suggested that a letter be sent to members of the OC that have 3 or more consecutive absences. Xx. Xxxxxxxx stated that a new sub-committee be formed for the 2023 Annual Report. Discussion was made among the SGW committee regarding the non-compliance of cities, the process of updating the Comprehensive Plan as well as the process of approving developer projects. The following persons volunteered to be a part of the sub-committee: Xxxxx Xxxxxxxx Xxxxxx Xxxxxxxx Xxxxxxxx Xxxxxx Xxx Xxxxxxx Xxxxxxxx Xxxxxx Members of the committee stated that some of the cities have sent their transmittals to the State, therefore is there any way that the cities can be noted that they are in pending status so it looks like the city is not ignoring the compliance regulations.
