Other Professional Employees. Other professional staff employees include: BA Speech Therapist, Occupational Therapist, Physical Therapist, LPN, RN, Child Development Specialist, Parent Coordinator and Assistive Technology Specialist. The probationary period is defined as one calendar year commencing with the first day on which duties are performed as an employee covered by this agreement. Other professional employees who have completed the probationary period shall not be dismissed for performance-based reasons without at least one documented attempt at remediation. At the request of the Union, the Superintendent shall discuss the termination of probationary employees with the Union. Probationary employees under this subparagraph B shall have no seniority, except as otherwise provided in this Agreement, until he/she has completed the probationary period. Upon completion of the probationary period, he/she shall acquire seniority retroactively from the date of employment. Completion of the probationary period does not entitle an employee to a just cause standard for discipline or dismissal.

  • Day Employees If a day employee is scheduled to work more than nine and one-half (9 ½) continuous hours, the Company will provide a meal if requested. A second meal, if requested, will be provided if the employee works more than thirteen and one- half (13 ½) continuous hours. A lunch period of one-half (1/2) hour without pay will be allowed. Meals will be provided if an employee is called into work on such short notice that the employee is unable to provide their own meal. For the purpose of this Article, lunch periods shall not be considered to interrupt continuous hours.

  • CULTURAL LEAVE FOR ABORIGINAL EMPLOYEES The Superintendent of Schools or their designate, may grant five (5) paid days per year leave with seven (7) days written notice from the employee to participate in Aboriginal Cultural event(s). Such leave shall not be unreasonably denied.

  • Joint Labor/Management Committees Purpose and Membership. Joint Labor/Management Committees are established to provide a forum for communications and problem-solving between the two parties and to deal with matters of a general personnel Union/Employer concern, as well as professional practices within the hospital related to patient care and professional issues. The Committees will work toward the improvement of patient care and recommend ways and means to improve patient care; and will address problems and concerns related to staffing and workloads. The Committees’ function will be limited to an advisory capacity and shall not include any decision making or collective bargaining authority. Committee memberships:

  • Medical Appointment for Pregnant Employees 35.9.1 Up to three decimal seven five (3.75) hours of reasonable time off with pay for each appointment will be granted to pregnant employees for the purpose of attending routine medical appointments.
