Parental Bonding Leave. Unit members who meet the eligibility requirements for parental bonding leave under the California Family Rights Act (CFRA) may take leave for the purpose of caring for a newborn or newly adopted child or a newly placed xxxxxx child for up to twelve (12) work weeks. Pursuant to Education Code section 44977.5, eligible unit members will receive differential pay during this leave. The parties will reopen this Article 8.11 in the event of substantive amendment to Education Code section 44977.5. 8.11.1 The twelve (12) workweeks shall be reduced by any period of paid sick leave, including accumulated sick leave, taken during a period of maternity or paternity leave pursuant to this article or CFRA (Government Code § 12945.
