Parental Influence and the Home. Learning Environment as Inputs in Educational Production‌ When students begin school at a very young age with varying levels of ability, this is sometimes associated with the quality of the home literacy environment (HLE) provided by their parents. Learning at this stage is crucial because academic success after elementary school has been shown to remain fairly steady and thus serves as strong foundation for later educational and life success (Xxxxxxxx, 1999); (Xxxxx et al., 2010); (Xxxxxx et al., 2019). Parental influence or involvement can be grouped into several categories, and studies which find conflicting results on the impact of parental influence on academic achievement often differ in their measurements of parental influence (Xxxxxxxx, 1999); (Xxxxxxx and Xxxxxxx, 2004); (Xxxxx et al., 2020). Furthermore, parental involvement at home and parental involvement at school are two distinct concepts. While the former may include reading, cooking, helping with homework, as well as outings with children, the latter involves attending school programmes that feature students, attending parent-teacher conferences, and engaging in volunteer activities at school. Most researchers seem to agree that parental involvement at school benefits students in their performance. Studies on parental involvement at home however, produce conflicting results. For instance, while Xxxxxxx and Xxxxxxxx (1984) find evidence of a positive relationship between the home environment at 12 months and test scores at the end of the first grade, particularly with respect to the availability of play materials, results from Xxxxxx et al. (2019) show that while certain aspects of parental involvement had positive effects on the achievement of their children, parent’s homework assistance instead had a negative effect on achievement. In general, parental school involvement affects student achievement in two ways; by increasing social capital and by allowing for social control. By engaging with school personnel, parents improve their skills and obtain more information about school requirements and expectations of students and learn how to encourage further learning at home. Social capital involves creating a platform where parents and schools can work together to encourage student development and reduce or prevent problematic attitudes.   • NOW AND THEREFORE in accordance with the principle of sincere cooperation, mutual benefit and joint development and after friendly negotiations, the parties hereby enter into the following agreements pursuant to the provisions of relevant laws and regulations of the PRC.

  • Vendor’s Resellers as Related to This Agreement Vendor’s Named Resellers (“Resellers”) under this Agreement shall comply with all terms and conditions of this agreement and all addenda or incorporated documents. All actions related to sales by Authorized Vendor’s Resellers under this Agreement are the responsibility of the awarded Vendor. If Resellers fail to report sales to TIPS under your Agreement, the awarded Vendor is responsible for their contractual failures and shall be billed for the fees. The awarded Vendor may then recover the fees from their named reseller. Support Requirements If there is a dispute between the awarded Vendor and TIPS Member, TIPS or its representatives may, at TIPS sole discretion, assist in conflict resolution if requested by either party. TIPS, or its representatives, reserves the right to inspect any project and audit the awarded Vendor’s TIPS project files, documentation and correspondence related to the requesting TIPS Member’s order. If there are confidentiality requirements by either party, TIPS shall comply to the extent permitted by law. Incorporation of Solicitation The TIPS Solicitation which resulted in this Vendor Agreement, whether a Request for Proposals, the Request for Competitive Sealed Proposals or Request for Qualifications solicitation, or other, the Vendor’s response to same and all associated documents and forms made part of the solicitation process, including any addenda, are hereby incorporated by reference into this Agreement as if copied verbatim. Umbrella Liability $1,000,000 When the Vendor or its subcontractors are liable for any damages or claims, the Vendor’s policy, when the Vendor is responsible for the claim, must be primary over any other valid and collectible insurance carried by the Member. Any immunity available to TIPS or TIPS Members shall not be used as a defense by the contractor's insurance policy. The coverages and limits are to be considered minimum requirements and in no way limit the liability of the Vendor(s). Insurance shall be written by a carrier with an A-; VII or better rating in accordance with current A.M. Best Key Rating Guide. Only deductibles applicable to property damage are acceptable, unless proof of retention funds to cover said deductibles is provided. "Claims made" policies will not be accepted. Vendor’s required minimum coverage shall not be suspended, voided, cancelled, non-renewed or reduced in coverage or in limits unless replaced by a policy that provides the minimum required coverage except after thirty (30) days prior written notice by certified mail, return receipt requested has been given to TIPS or the TIPS Member if a project or pending delivery of an order is ongoing. Upon request, certified copies of all insurance policies shall be furnished to the TIPS or the TIPS Member. Special Terms and Conditions • Orders: All Vendor orders received from TIPS Members must be emailed to TIPS at tipspo@tips- xxx.xxx. Should a TIPS Member send an order directly to the Vendor, it is the Vendor’s responsibility to forward a copy of the order to TIPS at the email above within 3 business days and confirm its receipt with TIPS. • Vendor Encouraging Members to bypass TIPS agreement: Encouraging TIPS Members to purchase directly from the Vendor or through another agreement, when the Member has requested using the TIPS cooperative Agreement or price, and thereby bypassing the TIPS Agreement is a violation of the terms and conditions of this Agreement and will result in removal of the Vendor from the TIPS Program. • Order Confirmation: All TIPS Member Agreement orders are approved daily by TIPS and sent to the Vendor. The Vendor should confirm receipt of orders to the TIPS Member (customer) within 3 business days. • Vendor custom website for TIPS: If Vendor is hosting a custom TIPS website, updated pricing when effective. TIPS shall be notified when prices change in accordance with the award.

  • Factors Beyond the HSP’s Control Despite the foregoing, if the Funder, acting reasonably, determines that the Performance Factor is, in whole or in part, a Factor Beyond the HSP’s Control:

  • No Nuisance and Disturbance Not to use the said Apartment or the Common Areas or the parking space, if any, or permit the same to be used in such manner or commit any act, which may in any manner cause nuisance or annoyance to other occupants of the Building and/or the neighboring properties and not make or permit to be made any disturbance or do or permit anything to be done that will interfere with the rights, comforts or convenience of others.

  • Rights of the Grievant and the Association A. The grievant has the right to Association representation at all meetings and hearings involving the grievance.

  • Successors & Assigns This Agreement shall bind, and the rights hereunder shall inure to, the respective successors and assigns of the parties hereto, subject to the provisions of the Credit Agreement and the other Financing Documents.

  • POSSESSION OF THE APARTMENT 7.1 Schedule for possession of the said Apartment - The Promoter agrees and understands that timely delivery of possession of the Apartment to the allottee’s and the common areas to the association of allottee’s or the competent authority, as the case may be, is the essence of the Agreement. The Promoter assures to hand over possession of the Apartment along with ready and complete common areas with all specifications, amenities and facilities of the project in place on (Date) unless there is delay or failure due to war, flood, drought, fire, cyclone, earthquake or any other calamity caused by nature affecting the regular development of the real estate project (“Force Majeure”). If, however, the completion of the Project is delayed due to the Force Majeure conditions then the Allottee’s agrees that the Promoter shall be entitled to the extension of time for delivery of possession of the Apartment, provided that such Force Majeure conditions are not of a nature, which make it impossible for the contract to be implemented. The Allottee’s agrees and confirms that, in the event it becomes impossible for the Promoter to implement the project due to Force Majeure conditions, then this allotment shall stand terminated and the Promoter shall refund to the Allottee’s the entire amount received by the Promoter from the allotment within 45 days from that date. The promoter shall intimate the allottee’s about such termination at least thirty days prior to such termination. After refund of the money paid by the Allottee’s, the Allottee’s agrees that he/ she shall not have any rights, claims etc. against the Promoter and that the Promoter shall be released and discharged from all its obligations and liabilities under this Agreement.

  • Successors; Assignment This Agreement shall be binding upon and inure to the benefit of the heirs, executors, administrators, legal representatives, successors and assigns of the parties; provided however, that Borrower may not assign or transfer its interest hereunder without Bank's prior written consent. Bank reserves the right to sell, assign, transfer, negotiate or grant participations in all or any part of, or any interest in, Bank's rights and benefits under each of the Loan Documents. In connection therewith, Bank may disclose all documents and information which Bank now has or may hereafter acquire relating to any credit subject hereto, Borrower or its business, or any collateral required hereunder.
