Payment For Wages Lost. Payment for wages lost as a result of absence due to occupational accident, injury, or illness, when added to an award granted the employee under the California Workers' Compensation and Insurance Laws, shall not exceed the regular salary of the employee. In the case of employees paid on an hourly basis, the normal wages for the day shall be based on the assigned work time of the employee.
