Payroll Deductions. Withholding from pay of Association dues, insurance premiums, credit union obligations, Citizens for Chardon Schools contributions, OEA Fund for Children in Public Education contributions, annuity contributions, STRS contributions to purchase service credit, and income tax deductions or withholdings may be commenced any time during the year at no cost to the member and can be terminated or canceled, unless prohibited by law, by an individual teacher at any time during the year upon said teacher providing the Treasurer of the Board of Education with a written request to this effect at least fourteen (14) working days prior to the payday upon which said cancellation, termination, alteration, or start up of a deduction is to become effective. If a cancellation occurs, the teacher should contact the Treasurer to work toward an agreement to alleviate the loss of personal funds in a voluntary deduction situation.
6.04.1 Association Membership is annual with the membership year being September 1 through August 31. Once a member enrolls such membership shall be continuous thereafter for each subsequent membership year unless the individual cancels membership. Any individual who wishes to cancel membership must notify the Association (Treasurer/President) and District Treasurer in writing between August 1 and August 31. A member may cancel membership outside of the aforementioned cancellation period, but shall be responsible for all remaining dues and assessments of the current membership year and by such cancellation acknowledges that the member is forgoing any rights specifically reserved to members of the Association. In the event the employee xxxxxx employment or cancels membership in the Association during the year (August-July), the District Treasurer shall deduct all owed and remaining dues from the employee’s next paycheck immediately following such notification and remit to the Association Treasurer, so long as permitted under law. 6.04.2 The Association on behalf of itself and the OEA and NEA agree to indemnify the Board for any cost or liability incurred as a result of the implementation and enforcement of this provision provided that:
6.04.2.1 The Board shall give a ten (10) day written notice of any claim made or action filed against the employer by a non-member for which indemnification may be claimed;

Payroll Deductions. The Association Union shall provide the Court with a complete list of the classifications subject to this Section represented by the Union and its affiliates have a current statement of membership fees. Such list of represented classifications and statement of membership fees shall be amended as necessary. The Court may take up to 30 days to implement such changes. The Court shall arrange that the exclusive right of automatic required membership fee or service fee payroll deductions are made solely for the Union representing the employee’s classification as designated on the list submitted by the Union. Payroll Deductions. The Board shall provide payroll deductions as outlined below:
A. ORGANIZATION DUES/REPRESENTATION FEE
1. The Board shall make a payroll deduction as authorized by the teacher for membership dues in the Allegany County Teachers Association (ACTA) and its affiliates have the exclusive right affiliates, or for a representation fee as required per A.8 below.
2. The deduction will be taken each pay period during which such authorization is effective. Payroll Deductions. 16.1 Annually, on or before October 1, the Association shall submit to the Superintendent’s office a list of bargaining unit members for whom Association membership dues or Association representation fees are to be deducted from payroll. Each employee who, on the effective date of this Agreement, is a member of the Association, and each employee who becomes a member after that date shall continue membership during the duration of this Agreement; provided, however, that a teacher may, in writing withdraw from membership in the Association within 15 calendar days of each yearly anniversary date of this Agreement. Notification of withdrawal shall be made to the Association and the Association shall promptly notify the Superintendent’s office. Payroll Deductions. The Upon receipt of the substitute teacher's written request, the District will deduct the following from salary: Association member dues , premiums for Board approved medical insurance, tax sheltered annuities, and its affiliates have contributions to the exclusive right of automatic payroll deduction of United Way.
1. A substitute teacher may request in writing that his/her regular Association membership dues, assessmentsincluding any OEA or NEA dues, be deducted from his/her salary. The first monthly deduction shall be made on the pay date following the District's receipt of authorization if received before the district’s payroll cutoff deadline and fees if not then on the following pay date. Such authorization shall continue in effect year to year until revoked by email or letter delivered to the district’s Human Resources office and the Association on or before October 15 of each year.. The SEA agrees to indemnify and save the SPS harmless against any expense liability which may arise by reason on any action taken by the SPS to comply with the provisions of this Article IX,D, including reimbursement for any legal fees or expenses incurred should it choose in connection therewith. Payroll Deductions. A. NNA shall have exclusive payroll deductions of membership dues under the following conditions:
1. The Association NNA shall provide a signed authorization from the individual and its affiliates transmit it to the Business Office. The deduction will begin with the second payroll after submittal.
2. The authorization shall be on a form approved by the district. Once this authorization has been filed it need not be renewed each year. Any changes in the amount of dues to be deducted will be made automatically in accordance with paragraph 3 below.
3. The deduction shall be at a rate derived by dividing the number of pay periods into the amount of the unified membership dues. The NNA will notify the Business Office by August 1 of the amount the dues will be for that year and the amount to be deducted each payroll. The deductions will begin with the first payroll in September and will continue until the total is deducted.
4. An individual may revoke the authorization by filing a form supplied by the District with the Business Office. The deduction is to cease by the second payroll following the revocation.
5. The District is not responsible for collection of any balance due when an individual revokes the authorization or when an individual drops from payroll by resignation or otherwise. An individual may make a timely request to have deducted any balance of dues owed.
6. Payment of such dues withheld shall be made to the exclusive right Treasurer of automatic the Unit on December 31 and June 30 of each school year.

6. Employees who are members of the School Employees Credit Union of Washington or similar financial institutions may authorize payroll deduction by presenting an authorization for such deduction.
7. The SEA agrees to indemnify and save the SPS harmless against any expense liability which may arise by reason on any action taken by the SPS to comply with the provisions of this Article IX,C, including reimbursement for any legal fees or expenses incurred should it choose in connection therewith. The SPS agrees to employ additional legal counselnotify the SEA promptly, in writing, of any claim, demand, suit or other form of liability in regard to this Section and, if the SEA so requests in writing, to surrender claims, demands, suits or other forms of liability.

Payroll Deductions. The District shall deduct from the salaries of the unit members at the unit member's request, the following: dues of Association members, premiums for Board approved health and welfare benefits, tax sheltered annuities (TSA) which the District has approved, and contributions to United Way.
4.8.1 UNION MEMBER DUES
a. Any unit member may enter into an agreement with the Association to provide authorization for the district to make a deduction request in writing the unit member's regular Association membership dues to be deducted from the unit member's salary or wages to pay dues, fees, any any other authorized deductions to the Association or its affiliated organizations or entities. The first monthly deduction shall be made on the following pay date after the authorization is received. 6. Employees who are members of the Washington School Employees Credit Union of Washington or other similar financial institutions may authorize payroll deduction for Credit Union activities by presenting an authorization the deductions.
7. The SEA agrees to indemnify and save the SPS harmless against any expense liability which may arise by reason on any action taken by the SPS to comply with the provisions of this Article IX,D, including reimbursement for any legal fees or expenses incurred should it choose in connection therewith. The SPS agrees to employ additional legal counselnotify the SEA promptly, in writing, of any claim, demand, suit or other form of liability in regard to this Section and, if the SEA so requests in writing, to surrender claims, demands, suits or other forms of liability.
