Placement Upon Promotion. An employee who is promoted to a higher paid classification shall be placed on the step in the new class that provides at least a 5% increase in pay per class movement (example: a 5% increase for movement from Class 2 to Class 3 or a 10% increase for movement from Class 2 to Class 4).

Placement Upon Promotion. 7.5.1 When a unit member is promoted to or assigned to a classification with a higher maximum salary than his/her previous classification, his/her salary will be adjusted to the minimum or to that step of the new range that represents not less than five percent (5%) salary increase per pay period.
