Police Duties. Police duties shall include any duties that, if performed while on duty, would have been considered as part of a member’s employment. Furthermore, the City agrees that an injury or sickness shall be considered “in the performance of police duties” if such injury is received or such sickness is contracted at any time while the member is actually performing police work for and on behalf of the City, even if said member may not actually be on his/her regular tour of duty. The City further agrees that once a member of the bargaining unit reports for work, he/she is actually “on duty” and shall be covered under this Article for any injuries received or sicknesses contracted until the time that his/her tour of duty is completed.
