Post Incident Testing. (a) After the occurrence of a significant incident/event at a workplace, all Workers involved in the incident may be required to undergo an initial Drug and Alcohol test.
(b) Where a Worker(s) is to be tested following a significant incident/event they shall be supervised by an Employer Representative and Employee Representative continually from the time of the incident until they have completed all testing required.
(c) Post Incident Testing will be conducted as soon as practical after the incident/event and when it is safe to do so.
(d) An injured Worker who requires immediate medical attention may only be tested when it is appropriate and safe to do so. This will be determined by the Construction Manager, the HSR, Delegate and the relevant PIA in consultation with the attending medical practitioner. In such cases, where testing can be conducted while under medical care, a saliva testing process will be used.

Post Incident Testing. Any sworn member who discharges their firearm in the course and scope of their duties shall be ordered (unless there are extraordinary circumstances as determined by the Chief of Police or his/her designee) to submit to alcohol and drug testing, as outlined in this Article. Such testing shall not occur when the firearm discharge occurred in the course of training, testing, humane destruction of animals or for legal recreational purposes.
Post Incident Testing. Any Employee involved in an on- the-job incident, accident or injury under circumstances that suggest possible use or influence of drugs or alcohol in the incident, accident or injury event may be asked to submit to a drug and/or alcohol test. “Involved in an on-the-job incident, accident or injury” means not only the one who was injured, but also any employee who potentially contributed to the incident, accident or injury event in any way. If any employee is tested for drugs or alcohol outside the employment context and the results indicate a violation of this policy, the employee may be subject to appropriate disciplinary action, up to and including discharge from employment. In such case, the employee will be given an opportunity to explain the circumstances prior to any employment action becoming effective.
Post Incident Testing. Any employee for which carrying a firearm is a requirement of their position and who discharges their firearm in the course and scope of their duties shall be ordered to submit to alcohol and drug testing as outlined in this Article. Such testing shall not occur when the firearm discharge occurred in the course of training, testing or for legal recreational purposes. Where an employee has been ordered to undergo post-incident testing, he or she shall be placed on paid administrative leave pending receipt of the test result(s). If the test result(s) are negative, the member shall be returned to assigned duties pending the outcome(s) of any administrative and/or criminal investigation.
Post Incident Testing. Testing for drugs and/or alcohol may be required under any of the following circumstances:
a. Injury believed to be caused by carelessness on the job requiring treatment at a medical facility;
b. Causation of a near accident of serious magnitude even though no one is seriously injured;
c. Involvement in what is believed to be a careless and avoidable accident of serious magnitude where equipment was damaged even though no injuries were reported.
Post Incident Testing. The Sheriff may require an employee involved in any incident on work time which causes property damage or personal injury requiring off-site treatment, or an incident or shooting off Sheriff’s Office premises while on the job or involving the use of County’s vehicles or equipment, to submit to a drug and/or alcohol test.
Post Incident Testing. A test-designated employee shall submit to a drug test or an alcohol test if there is evidence that the test-designated employee may have caused or contributed to an on-duty accident or incident resulting in death, or serious personal injury requiring immediate medical treatment, that arises out of any of the following:
Post Incident Testing. A. An employee shall be subject to an immediate post-incident drug test when involved in a “critical incident". A "critical incident" is defined as:
1. The actions of any on duty employee which results in the death of a person;
2. The operation of a vehicle on duty or any time in a departmental vehicle off duty by an employee which results in a fatal traffic accident or an accident causing any injury or property damage in excess of $2,500.00;
3. Where the actions of an employee causes any physical injury or death to a person by the use of a firearm either on-duty or off-duty.
