Advancement of Sick Leave. When an employee with less than six (6) months of continuous service becomes ill and must be absent from duty due to such illness for a period of time which exceeds his/her accumulated sick leave, and is five (5) calendar days or longer in duration, the first day of which is a duty day, such employee may be continued in paid status on an advance of sick leave at the discretion of the Appointing Authority for up to ten (10) days pending formal action to authorize the advance of sick leave via the Industrial Relations Board and City Council. Any and all days of sick leave which are advanced to any employee must be paid back to the City at the rate of 4.616 hours per each two (2) pay periods. If any such advance of sick leave by the Appointing Authority is not subsequently approved by the City Council, the employee involved shall immediately, upon notification, make full financial restitution to the City, which amounts may be withheld from any final pay.
Advancement of Sick Leave. Each newly-hired Professional Staff Member and each Professional Staff Member having used all available sick leave will be given an advancement of no more than five (5) days of sick leave each year to be charged against the sick leave the employee subsequently accumulates. To be eligible for, and to receive this advancement, the employee must complete the paperwork requesting this advancement, and the employee must have repaid all past advancements. The employee is limited to one advancement per school year
Advancement of Sick Leave. An employee who has contributed to the Superannuation Fund for not less than eighteen (18) months and who has exhausted his/her sick leave entitlements shall be granted upon application a fifteen (15) day block of advanced sick leave credits. Of the fifteen (15) day block of sick leave credits granted, those credits actually used shall be paid back at the rate of one half (½) day per month of credits earned upon return to employment. All advanced credits must be repaid in accordance with this Article before an employee can be granted another advanced block. An employee who has been granted advanced sick leave credits shall, upon ceasing to be an employee, compensate the Employer for advanced sick leave granted which has not been paid back in accordance with this Article, calculated at the employee’s daily rate of compensation at the time the employee ceased to be an employee.
Advancement of Sick Leave. An employee with more than two years continuous service, whose personnel records warrant it, may be advanced sick leave with pay for not more than 10 working days with the written approval of the operating agency and the Director. Such advances will be charged against sick leave accumulated later in subsequent service.
Advancement of Sick Leave. Newly employed unit members will be advanced sick leave credit of up to five (5) days (37½ hours) at the commencement of employment. Unit members with more than one (1) full year of service who have used all available sick leave will be advanced up to five (5) days sick leave (37½ hours) credit in any one school year. Eligibility for advancement of sick leave will expire at the conclusion of each school year. Any advancement of sick leave will be reduced as sick leave credit is earned and any unit member who leaves employment without first having recouped the full amount of any advanced sick leave days will pay the value of those days to the Board.
Advancement of Sick Leave. Classified bargaining unit employees employed in the State of Ohio for the first time shall be advanced five (5) days of sick leave. If any of the five days of sick leave are used, they shall be deducted from the total sick leave, which may be accumulated during the first four (4) months of service. A bargaining unit employee injured at work shall not be required to use sick leave.
Advancement of Sick Leave. Teachers with no teaching experience in the State of Ohio and employed full-time as a contracted teacher shall receive on the first day of the school year an advance of five (5) days sick leave. Each teacher who has exhausted his/her accumulated sick leave shall be advanced five (5) days of sick leave per year, upon request. Such advancement will be charged against the sick leave the teacher subsequently accumulates. Receipt of payment for sick leave not earned under the law, followed by failure to complete contractual obligations, shall result in a financial obligation to reimburse the Board for any such overpayment.
Advancement of Sick Leave. Upon initial employment, each employee shall be advanced five (5) days of sick leave to his/her credit. If sick leave is needed, a new employee shall not accumulate sick leave until such time as the sick leave he/she would have accumulated equals the amount of sick leave he/she was advanced. Employees who have been employed in the District for a period of one (1) year and who have consumed all previously accumulated sick leave may be granted an advancement of five (5) days of sick leave on their sick leave to be earned thereafter for the second year of employment. Any such employee who thus receives an advancement of sick leave shall make written application on a form provided by the Treasurer on which he/she shall also verify the intention to return to the employ of the District upon recovery or to pay the value of such sick days advanced should he/she not return, such payment to be either by payroll deduction from money due him/her from the District or by direct payment. Such application shall be accompanied by the Statement of a physician that the employee will be physically able to return to his/her assignment upon recovery and shall also give the anticipated date of return. The sick leave advancement shall not be available after the second year of employment with the Board unless approved by the Superintendent in advance.
Advancement of Sick Leave. Pursuant to 3319.141 of the Ohio Revised code, each Certified School Psychologist having used all available sick leave will be given an advanced accumulation of sick leave once each school year which shall be charged against subsequently accruing sick leave.
Advancement of Sick Leave. An employee who has exhausted all sick days, all personal days and all vacation days may be advanced a one time additional five (5) days per school year upon request to the office of Business Operations. Upon return, days shall be repaid at the rate of one and one-fourth (1-1/4) days per month. In the event the employee does not return to work, the cost of the days shall be repaid to the Board immediately, in the form of payroll deduction or a check from the employee.
