Prevention of Workplace Violence. HMC's Environment of Care Committee has a subcommittee on Workplace Violence Prevention. SEIU 1199NW will appoint two (2) members to serve on this committee. All time spent by members on this Committee shall be paid per Article 15.7 (Committee Work). As part of its work, the Workplace Violence Prevention Committee will address the safety/security of the layout of the Medical Center, staff concerns in planning and ongoing resources which include the evaluation of implemented programs and the training needs of employees and the evaluations from any workplace violence training to meet the needs of employees.
Prevention of Workplace Violence. The Health and Safety Committee shall make recommendations to the Occupational Medicine Committee on hazards and risk factors including training, reporting, incident response and program evaluation.
Prevention of Workplace Violence. Due to health care personnel being at increased risk of workplace violence, the Employer and the Union agree to work together to protect nurses by developing a comprehensive violence prevention program. The violence prevention program to be developed shall include nurse participation as appointed by the Union, and will include elements of hazard and risk factor identification, training, reporting, post-incident response plan and evaluation of the program.

The Employer will, in its sole judgment, take appropriate steps and maintain appropriate policies or programs to minimize the risk of violence in the workplace. Such efforts may include elements of hazard and risk factor identification, training, reporting, post incident response planning and program evaluation.
Prevention of Workplace Violence. The parties made a joint commitment to a shared goal of zero tolerance for violence in the workplace. The National LMP Tri-Chairs will appoint a national team to conduct a program-wide analysis to improve violence prevention. This team will consider the following subject areas in its analysis and ensuing recommendations: » education and training; » communications; » EAP; » organizational consistency; and » data and reporting. Once the team has completed its analysis, it will create recommendations for developing consistent violence prevention programs. The team will report recommendations to the National LMP Tri-Chairs, who will review and consider appropriate next steps. Labor may also independently make recommendations to management regarding possible workplace violence prevention policy changes based upon the analysis. The parties agree to establish in each market, where none currently exists, an LMP PWV Committee. The national PWV Committee will create a reporting mechanism for the local/regional PWV committees to the national PWV Committee. See Exhibit 1.J.5. for the implementation timeline and additional information.
Prevention of Workplace Violence. The College, in cooperation with the Union, shall develop a comprehensive workplace violence prevention program. The program shall include training for bargaining unit employees in the recognition of violent behavior and its prevention. The College and the Union agree that such training will take place no later than the fall of 2009. Thereafter, additional trainings will be provided every two (2) years.
