TO MANAGEMENT. The Union recognizes the right of the Company to hire, promote, and transfer any employee, to manage its business in all respects in accordance with its obligations, to direct the work force and to make and alter from time to time Rules and Regulations, same not to be inconsistent with provisions of this agreement and subject to the right of the employees to file a grievance. The Union also recognizes the right of the Company to discharge, suspend or otherwise discipline employees, provided that a claim that an employee who has completed probationary period has been discharged or disciplined without just cause or has been dealt with contrary to the provisions of this agreement may be the subject of a grievance and dealt with as hereinafter provided.

TO MANAGEMENT. The Union recognises the right of the Company to hire, promote, transfer, demote and layoff employ- ees and suspend discharge, or otherwise discipline employees for just cause subject to the right of any employee to lodge a grievance in the manner and to the extent herein provided. The Company and Union agree that in the exercise of each of their rights and in the administration of this agreement they shall endeavour to do so in a fair and reasonable manner.

Nothing in this agreement shall be deemed to restrict the management in any way in the performance of all functions of man- agement except those specifically abridged or a modified by this agreement.
