Proof of Illness. A Faculty Member may be required by the College to produce a certificate from a legally qualified medical practitioner for any period of absence for which sick leave is claimed by a Faculty Member, and if a certificate is not produced after such a request, the time absent from work will be deducted from the Faculty Member’s pay. Where the College has reason to believe a Faculty Member is misusing sick leave privileges, the College may issue to the Faculty Member a standing directive that requires the Faculty Member to submit a medical certificate for any period of absence for which sick leave is claimed.
