Public Service Leave. An employee has the right to become a candidate for public office and to serve in such elective office unless there is a specific legal prohibition. Upon application, leave of absence without pay in order to run for or serve in public office shall be granted. Employees shall have the option to continue term life insurance coverage under the Board group plan by reimbursing the Board in full for the annual premium.
