Purpose and Scope of Authority. The University and the Union will maintain a Union-Management Communication Committee to provide a forum for communication between the parties and to promote constructive labor- management relations. Committee meetings will be used for discussions only; the committee shall have no authority to conduct any negotiations or modify the provisions of this Agreement. The agenda shall be limited to items that are of a group rather than an individual interest or concern and shall not include individual grievances properly processed under the grievance procedure.

The Union Management Committee may negotiate additions or modifications to any provisions of this Agreement upon mutual/written agreement of the parties. The parties will formally adjourn Union Management Committee and take a short break, before convening negotiation discussions.
