RATES OF PAY FOR HIGHER AND LOWER CLASS WORK THAN REGULARLY SCHEDULED. If an employee temporarily fills a job with a lower rate of pay than his own job, he shall receive his regular rate of pay.

RATES OF PAY FOR HIGHER AND LOWER CLASS WORK THAN REGULARLY SCHEDULED. If any employee is temporarily assigned to a job with a higher rate of pay, he shall receive, while assigned to it, the step rate on the higher job classification immediately above the employee's regular rate provided, however, that if this step rate does not produce a wage increase of eight cents (8¢) per hour, the employee shall be paid for the temporary work the next highest step rate on the higher job, but not in excess of the maximum rate of the higher job. If such an employee is assigned to a job with a higher rate of pay during scheduled straight time working hours, he shall receive pay at the highest rate or step rate earned during such scheduled straight time worked that day for not less than four hours of straight time worked. When the employee's rate on his regular job is the maximum rate on that job and he performs temporary relief work on higher jobs having step rates, his rate for such temporary work shall advance as follows:
