Reduction in Force and Replacement Rights for Upcoming School Year. Notice: When reducing the work force for the upcoming school year, the School Board will reduce hours or layoff by classification the least senior paraprofessional by location/program, as identified by the supervisor/building principal. The employee affected by the layoff will be given fourteen (14) calendar days written notice of layoff. Employees who lose their position for the upcoming school year through the notice procedure above will be required to bid during either round of bidding for the upcoming school year. If employee bids but is unable to secure a position during either round of bidding, employee may apply to positions that become available open during the summer months. Employees who do not secure a position by August 1 will be placed in an open position(s) to most closely match the hours previously held. Should no positions be open, employee will be placed on layoff and will be recalled as noted in Subd. 2.

  • REDUCTION IN FORCE It is understood and agreed that in addition to the above designated and related duties, full-time professional staff shall participate fully in the activities of institutional councils and/or committees. The employment status of the Employee shall be as follows: Executive/Managerial Appointment , not subject to tenure. Professional/Managerial Appointment , not subject to tenure. Other conditions of Employment:

  • REDUCTION IN WORK FORCE 17.01 In the event of a reduction in the work force, regular employees shall be laid off in reverse order of seniority, provided that there are available employees with greater seniority who are qualified and willing to do the work of the employees laid off.

  • Status of Replacement Employee Only the original vacancy resulting from an absence due to pre-paid leave will be posted. Employees in bargaining units at the Hospital represented by OPSEU, selected to fill vacancies resulting from replacing an employee on a pre-paid leave need not be considered for other vacancies while replacing such employee. Upon completion of the leave, the replacing employee will be returned to his former position, and the filling of subsequent vacancies will likewise be reversed. Employees newly hired to fill vacancies resulting from replacing an employee on pre-paid leave will not accrue seniority during the filling of such vacancies. Furthermore, such employees need not be considered for other vacancies. If such employees do post into permanent positions they will be credited with seniority from their last date of hire. The release or discharge of such employees will not be subject of a grievance or arbitration.
