Common use of Religious Holidays Clause in Contracts

Religious Holidays. An employee shall have the option of working Boxing Day and Easter Monday if her worksite is open in exchange for two (2) paid days off to observe religious holidays other than those referenced in Article 17.1. Employees exercising this option shall not be entitled to compensation pursuant to Article 17.5 on Boxing Day and Easter Monday and shall provide the Employer with the dates of the alternative two (2) days for which leave will be requested. It is understood that this clause involves no increased costs to the Employer.
