Required Days. The school calendar determines those days during which a teacher is required to perform assigned duties without special compensation. The school year will be based upon the calendar with the understanding that the school calendar is subject to emergency changes, but that such changes shall not affect the total number of work days required, that is one hundred eighty-five (185) days, and up to three (3) additional days for teachers new to the District.

  • Business Days If any time period for giving notice or taking action hereunder expires on a day which is a Saturday, Sunday or holiday in the state in which the Company’s chief executive office is located, the time period shall be automatically extended to the business day immediately following such Saturday, Sunday or holiday.

The Board will require 190 duty days for ten-month employees, 212 duty days for 11-month employees, 249 duty days for 12-month employees. In the event that the Board of Education or the Superintendent closes the school system to all employees during the Winter Break, bargaining unit members who would otherwise be required to work shall will be placed on paid Administrative Leave and those days will be counted as duty days.

  • Contract Days Those days during a professional year on which assign- ments can be made for which a teacher is paid to work.
