Reserve Training. A leave of absence will be granted to an employee who is active in the National Guard or a branch of the armed forces reserves for the purpose of fulfilling his/her annual field training obligations, or in the event the employee is ordered to active duty for the purpose of handling civil disorders. The employee must submit a written request for the leave of absence immediately upon receiving his/her orders to report for duty. The Board will pay the difference between the employee’s military pay and regular pay if military pay is less, for a period not to exceed fourteen (14) days in any fiscal year (July 1 - June 30).
