Apprenticeship Training. The enterprise agrees to work with the union to improve apprenticeship training and the number of apprentices in training.
Apprenticeship Training. The Employer agrees that before hiring an Apprentice, the Employer will contact the Apprenticeship Office to verify that the Apprentice is current with his or her Apprenticeship Training Requirements.
Apprenticeship Training. 4.1 There shall be a local Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee (JATC) consisting of a total of eight (8) members who shall also serve as Trustees to the local apprenticeship and training trust. An equal number of four members (4) shall be appointed, in writing, by the local chapter of the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) and the Local Union of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW). The local apprenticeship standards shall be in conformance with national guideline standards and industry policies to ensure that each apprentice has satisfactorily completed the NJATC required hours and course of study. All apprenticeship standards shall be registered with the NJATC before being submitted to the appropriate registration agency. The JATC shall be responsible for the training of apprentices, journeymen, installers, technicians, and all others (unindentured, intermediate journeymen, etc.).
4.2 All JATC member appointments, reappointments and acceptance of appointments shall be in writing. Each member shall be appointed for a three year term, unless being appointed for a lesser period of time to complete an unexpired term. The terms shall be staggered, with one (1) term from each side expiring each year. JATC members shall complete their appointed term unless removed for cause by the party they represent or they voluntarily resign. All vacancies shall be filled immediately. The JATC shall select from its membership, but not both from the same party, a Chairman and a Secretary who shall retain voting privileges. The JATC will maintain one (1) set of minutes for JATC committee meetings and a separate set of minutes for Trust meetings. The JATC should meet on a monthly basis, and also upon the call of the Chairman.
4.3 Any issue concerning an apprentice or an apprenticeship matter shall be referred to the JATC for its review, evaluation and resolve; as per standards and policies. If the JATC deadlocks on any issue, the matter shall be referred to the Labor-Management Committee for resolution as outlined in Article I of this agreement; except for trust fund matters, which shall be resolved as stipulated in the local trust instrument.
4.4 There shall be only one (1) JATC and one (1) local apprenticeship and training trust. The JATC may, however, establish joint subcommittees to meet specific needs, such as residential or telecommunications apprenticeship. The JATC may also establish a subcommittee to oversee an apprenticesh...
Apprenticeship Training. The length of the apprentice training will be determined by the NWT Apprenticeship, Trade and Occupations Certification Board, or the applicable board in another jurisdiction, and will vary depending upon the trade. The Employer may request that the Board reduce the normal period of training if it is satisfied that the apprentice has sufficient credits in the form of previous vocational training or a number of years of work experience in that trade.
Apprenticeship Training. It is mutually agreed by the Parties to this Agreement that the party of the first part covered herein shall become and/or continue to be a party of the Joint Apprenticeship and Training Trust established by the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local Union No. 841, provided such joint apprenticeship and training trust meets all the requirements of state and federal laws and regulations applicable thereto and is approved pursuant to the Internal Revenue Code.
Apprenticeship Training. 34.01 (a) The Employer agrees to participate on a local and provincial apprenticeship committee with equal amount of representation from the employer and the union to develop and implement programs and plans to
Apprenticeship Training. 37.5.1 The apprentice shall work towards achieving the qualification of a trade certificate in Sprinkler Fitting / Fire Protection or any subsequent equivalent certificate III in Services (Fire Protection). The apprentices shall do their course by block release.
37.5.2 Where an apprentice cannot reasonably be expected to travel to and from his/her residence each day during the period of Block Release Training, return travel between his/her usual place of residence and the city where the course is conducted will be arranged by the employer at no cost to the apprentice. The employer will also arrange suitable accommodation to be available at no cost to the apprentice.
Apprenticeship Training. It is mutually agreed that the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local No. 181, Apprenticeship and Training Trust, registered with the Bureau of Apprenticeship and Training, and the U.S. Department of Labor, is a part of this Agreement as is set forth herein. It is agreed that, effective July 1, 2018, and for the duration of the Agreement, each employer signatory to this Agreement, or facsimile thereof, will contribute to the Operating Engineers, Local No. 181 Apprenticeship and Training Fund seventy-five cents ($0.75) per hour for each hour worked or paid for on all employees covered by this Agreement. Each Employer shall send the contribution to the Fund monthly on or before the 10th of each month with any accounting of hours for which it compensated each employee during the preceding month. The pay rate of all Apprentices shall be for the proper period of training as determined by the Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee and as stipulated in the Apprenticeship Agreement. The following schedule of 1,000 hour periods shall be the hourly rates of pay for Apprentices: First Period – 0 to 1,000 hours 60% Second Period – 1,001 to 1,999 hours 65% Third Period – 2,000 to 2,999 hours 70% Fourth Period – 3,000 to 3,999 hours 75% Fifth Period – 4,000 to 4,999 hours 80% Sixth Period – 5,000 to 6,000 hours 90% At no time will the Apprentice rate be more than the classification of the machine he is operating.
Apprenticeship Training. The Company agrees to contribute fifteen cents ($.15) to the Alaska Joint Electrical Apprenticeship and Training Trust (“AJEA&TT”) per compensable hour for all employees in IBEW Journey and apprenticeable positions (Appendix V), except for hours worked by temporary employees described in Section 5.9.
Apprenticeship Training. The Employer shall contribute (see Wage and Fringe Benefits Supplement) per hour for all hours worked by or paid to Employees covered by this Agreement.
