Rest and Recuperation Leave a. A member who has served continuously in the Xxxxxx District for a period of at least six (6) years may, upon request, be granted a year's leave of absence without pay for the purpose of rest and recuperation. No increment will be earned during such leave, but upon return the salary will be one level above that of the last year taught. An individual returning to Xxxxxx District after such leave will be credited with any accumulated sick benefits which he/she had prior to the leave of absence. Sick leave will not be credited for the year of absence. Request for leave shall be submitted in writing on or before March 15th. Notice of the intent to return shall be given by March 15th of the year of the leave. Exception to the notice deadline can be made when medically justified.

  • Vacation Leave A part-time employee shall earn vacation leave credits for each month in which the employee receives pay for at least twice the number of hours in the employee’s normal workweek, at the rate for years of service established in clause 34.02 of this Agreement, prorated and calculated as follows:

  • Transition Leave At the Appointing Authority’s discretion an employee under notice of permanent layoff may be granted up to one hundred and sixty (160) hours of paid leave, ending at the date of layoff. Hours of leave may be granted at any time throughout the layoff notice period and shall not be subject to the Application and Reinstatement provision of this Article.

  • ’ Compensation Leave If such determination cannot readily be made and all healthcare leave or annual leave subject to 100% payoff has been applied to the absence, the employee shall be placed on Official Leave until a final determination is made.

  • Restoration of Vacation Leave In the event an employee is injured or becomes ill while on vacation leave, the employee may submit a written request to use sick leave and have the equivalent amount of vacation leave restored. The supervisor may require a written medical certificate.

  • Maternity Leave Allowance (a) An employee who qualifies for maternity leave pursuant to Clause 26.01, shall be paid a maternity leave allowance in accordance with the Supplemental Unemployment Benefit (SUB) Plan, as set out in Letter of Understanding #1. In order to receive this allowance, the employee must provide to the Employer proof that the employee has applied for and is eligible to receive employment insurance benefits pursuant to the Employment Insurance Act. An employee disentitled or disqualified from receiving employment insurance benefits is not eligible for maternity leave allowance.

  • BEREAVEMENT/TANGIHANGA LEAVE 15.1 The employer shall approve special bereavement leave on pay for an employee to discharge any obligation and/or to pay respects to a deceased person with whom the employee has had a close association. Such obligations may exist because of blood or family ties or because of particular cultural requirements such as attendance at all or part of a Tangihanga (or its equivalent). The length of time off shall be at the discretion of the employer.

  • Accumulation of Vacation Leave An employee who has earned at least ten (10) days' pay for each calendar month of a vacation year shall earn vacation leave of:
