Common use of Rest Break Clause in Contracts

Rest Break. Employees will be provided with a paid rest break of fifteen (15) minutes in each half of a full-time shift. Employees working less than a full-time shift shall be provided with a paid rest break during each continuous three (3) hours of working time. It is recognized that the employee is still on duty and may on occasion be interrupted from the rest break. Rest breaks must be taken at the location where the employee is working and cannot be combined with a meal break as outlined in Article 18.09, unless requested by the employee and preapproved by the employer.
