RETIREE HEALTH AND WELFARE BENEFITS AND PRESCRIPTION DRUG COVERAGE CHANGES. Any changes to the health care benefits and prescription drug coverage provided to active employees as set forth in Section 2 above will also be made, effective January 1, 2013, to the health care benefits and prescription drug coverage provided to eligible retirees who retired after December 31, 1989 (“Covered Retiree”) and the applicable retiree health care plans will be amended in the same manner as those provisions are amended for active employees pursuant to Section 2 above. Any future changes to health care benefits and prescription drug coverage provided to Covered Retirees will be negotiated with the Union in the same manner as that for active employees and future retirees.

  • Retiree Health Insurance All retired members of the bargaining unit who have not reached normal social security age, as defined by the Social Security Administration, may participate in the City employee's health care plan or plans, provided each retiree so desiring will execute the required forms in a timely fashion, and further provided that each retiree will be required to pay the full cost of such coverage subject to any rate increases which may occur from time to time. Such payments will be made directly to the plan provider or administrator by the retired member. The City shall incur no additional obligation from lack of the execution of the required forms or from payments not being made by the retired member.
