School Emergency and Calamity Closing. A. Where the Superintendent closes the schools and other buildings to all employees, O.R.C. Section 3319.081(G) provides that they will be paid for all regular hours of work lost when such school or building in which they are employed is closed to all employees by the Superintendent due to an epidemic or other public calamity up to five (5) days each school year. Examples of a public calamity include: (a) tornado, (b) flood, (c) ice conditions, (d) snow storm, and (e) other calamity situations as determined by the Superintendent. A public calamity does not include any school building closing to employees necessitated by: (a) fire, (b) power supply interruption or reduction, and (c) lack of fuel or reduction of fuel. Should a regular school or building be closed to all employees by order of the Superintendent due to such an epidemic or other public calamity, any employee required to work and in fact working in the closed employee’s building shall be compensated at the rate of two (2) times their regular hourly rate for each hour worked (this means you will get paid for your full day plus any additional hours you work at straight time). The Superintendent has the right to determine if and where employees are to work during times of public calamity or when schools are closed.   • Emergency/Declared Disaster Requirements In the event of an emergency or if Orange County is declared a disaster area by the County, state or federal government, this Contract may be subjected to unusual usage. The Contractor shall service the County during such an emergency or declared disaster under the same terms and conditions that apply during non-emergency/disaster conditions. The pricing quoted by the Contractor shall apply to serving the County’s needs regardless of the circumstances. If the Contractor is unable to supply the goods/services under the terms of the Contract, then the Contractor shall provide proof of such disruption and a copy of the invoice for the goods/services from the Contractor’s supplier(s). Additional profit margin as a result of supplying goods/services during an emergency or a declared disaster shall not be permitted. In the event of an emergency or declared disaster, emergency purchase order numbers will be assigned. All applicable invoices from the Contractor shall show both the emergency purchase order number and the Contract number.

  • Emergency Closure Where there is a temporary closure as a result of an immediate emergency or a planned temporary closure due to renovations, repairs, or moves, the Employer will: a) First offer to the affected employees the choice of taking either a vacation day or an unpaid leave of absence with no loss of seniority or benefits; thereafter, at the Employer's discretion, one of the following: b) Reassign staff to another location; c) Reschedule the lost hours within two (2) pay periods; or d) Decide not to do either (b) or (c), in which case employees shall still be paid for their regularly scheduled hours which they did not work as a result of the temporary layoff.

  • CONDITIONS FOR EMERGENCY/HURRICANE OR DISASTER - TERM CONTRACTS It is hereby made a part of this Invitation for Bids that before, during and after a public emergency, disaster, hurricane, flood, or other acts of God that Orange County shall require a “first priority” basis for goods and services. It is vital and imperative that the majority of citizens are protected from any emergency situation which threatens public health and safety, as determined by the County. Contractor agrees to rent/sell/lease all goods and services to the County or other governmental entities as opposed to a private citizen, on a first priority basis. The County expects to pay contractual prices for all goods or services required during an emergency situation. Contractor shall furnish a twenty-four (24) hour phone number in the event of such an emergency.

  • Limited Liability in Emergency Conditions Except as otherwise provided in the Tariff or the Operating Agreement, no Interconnection Party shall be liable to any other Interconnection Party for any action that it takes in responding to an Emergency Condition, so long as such action is made in good faith, is consistent with Good Utility Practice and is not contrary to the directives of the Transmission Provider or of the Interconnected Transmission Owner with respect to such Emergency Condition. Notwithstanding the above, Interconnection Customer shall be liable in the event that it fails to comply with any instructions of Transmission Provider or the Interconnected Transmission Owner related to an Emergency Condition.

  • Emergency School Closing 24.1 If as determined by the Superintendent, circumstances of weather, energy crisis, power failure, lack of water or heat, work stoppage, epidemic or other civil or natural emergencies, including threats or acts of violence, make it impossible or unsafe to open the schools or to keep open a school or schools, then the Superintendent shall act in such emergency situations to preserve and protect the lives and property of pupils and staff personnel. Such absence(s) shall not result in loss of pay or accumulated leave days to the teacher. 24.2 When an emergency confronts the schools of Polk County, notification of the closing of the schools shall be released for broadcast over appropriate public media as soon as possible.

  • Emergency Closings In the event a student day or teacher duty day is lost because of an emergency closing, the teacher shall perform duties on that day (unless hazardous conditions prohibit) or other such day in lieu thereof as the School Board or its designated representative shall determine, if any.

  • Emergency Situations If the condition is an emergency, this will be communicated to the Contractor with the request that corrections are to be accomplished immediately. The Contractor shall respond to the notice in emergency situations within twenty-four hours. If the Contractor fails to respond within this time limit, the Owner may correct the defect and charge the Contractor for the Work. If it is determined the complaint is not the responsibility of the Contractor, the Contractor shall be promptly paid for the cost of the corrective work. The Contractor shall give notice in writing to the Owner when corrections have been completed.

  • Emergency Closing 1. Management shall decide when, if and to what extent State facilities shall remain open or closed during emergencies, such as adverse weather conditions, acts of God, equipment breakdown, inoperable bathroom facilities, extreme office temperatures, etc. 2. The State shall designate one (1) person in each district area who will be responsible to call the Secretary of Administration or his/her designee if office, weather or other conditions exist which suggest closing is appropriate. 3. In facilities that must remain in operation despite emergency conditions, continued operations with a reduced work force may be authorized. In such instances, employees who are authorized to leave work early may do so without loss of pay or benefits. Employees who are required to remain at work shall receive compensatory time at straight time rates. 4. An employee who is unable to report to work due to weather or other emergency conditions shall have the absence charged against accumulated compensatory time or annual leave, in that order. 5. If management authorizes the complete closing of a State office or facility for emergency reasons, employees who leave the workplace shall receive their regular pay for time they are out of the closed office. 6. Employees required by management to work during complete emergency closings under (5) above, shall receive hourly pay at straight time rates for the hours so worked. This payment will be in addition to the employee’s regular pay.
