Emergency Closings. In the event that any part of or all of a student day or teacher duty day is lost due to any emergency, the teacher shall perform duties on that day or any other day in lieu thereof as the School District shall determine if any. Emergency closings include, but are not limited to, closing schools due to a pandemic or other health issues and weather related closings.
Emergency Closings. If the University decides because of inclement weather to dismiss P/A staff excluded from the bargaining unit, or tells them not to report for duty, without reducing their pay, the University will do the same for members of the bargaining unit.
Emergency Closings. Should the schools be closed during the period of a teacher's sick leave by an "emergency" day or holiday, as called by the Superintendent, such teacher will not be charged with a sick leave day.
Emergency Closings. When the University closes due to an emergency, pay for members of the bargaining unit shall be determined as follows:
A) Bargaining unit members whose work is interrupted by an emergency closing, and who are released from duties for the remainder of their shift, shall receive straight pay as though they had completed their scheduled hours.
B) Bargaining unit members who are scheduled to work, but who are directed by the University not to report to work due to an emergency closing, shall receive straight pay as though they had completed their scheduled hours. In order to be paid for an emergency closing, employees must work their last scheduled workday before and after the closure.
C) Bargaining unit members who are working when an emergency closing occurs, and who are directed by the University to continue to work, shall receive straight pay for hours before the effective time of the closing and payment at the rate of one and one-half (1.5) times their normal rate for hours after the announcement of the closing in addition to their straight pay.
D) Bargaining unit members who are scheduled to work after an emergency closing occurs, and who are directed by the University to report to work, will receive pay at one and one-half (1.5) times their normal rate for all hours worked during the closing.
E) Bargaining unit members who are not scheduled to work during a period of emergency, but who are directed by the University to report to work, will receive pay at two and one-half (2.5) times their normal rate for all hours worked.
F) During the period of an emergency closing, the University will not require any bargaining unit member to work who is on vacation or sick leave.
G) If a bargaining unit member is scheduled to work during an emergency closing, but is unable to reach the campus due to conditions which prompted the closing, then the bargaining unit member will be charged (at the bargaining unit member's discretion) vacation leave, compensatory time, or leave without pay for the period of their scheduled shift prior to the official closing.
Emergency Closings. In the event of a student day or teacher duty day lost for any emergency, the teacher will perform duties that day or other such day in lieu thereof as the member school district and/or Cooperative shall determine.
Emergency Closings. In the event that the City Manager determines that City services will be curtailed and/or limited due to storms, power outages or other unforeseen circumstances, the non- essential employees so notified shall not be required to report to work, or employees who have reported for work shall be released without loss of pay. When an employee is unable to report to work due to weather conditions, and the City Manager has not curtailed and/or limited city services, the employee may draw from vacation time or other appropriate leave. Employees who are not working and out on leave when City services are curtailed shall not be compensated for the emergency closing day. The provisions of this section shall apply to full and part-time regular employees (to include probationary employees for regular positions).
Emergency Closings. In the event a teacher duty day is lost for any emergency closing and the Board wishes to reschedule that day, the Board shall seek the input of the Association on possible alternative dates. However, should the Board determine that they will not reschedule lost days, no adjustment shall be made in the compensation for any teacher.
Emergency Closings. Subject to approval by the School Board, the school calendar committee in addition to usual calendar content shall also include certain days scheduled as make-up days during which school may be held to compensate for emergency school closings (including closings caused by a strike of another bargaining unit). Teachers shall not suffer loss of pay due to emergency closings. Days shall be made up only if necessary to avoid financial loss to the District. Such make-up days shall be district wide. Upon approval by the Board, the calendar shall be distributed to teachers, parents, and other interested parties.
Emergency Closings. Subd. 1. In the event that schools will be closed for the entire day due to an emergency, teachers will not report for work on that day or days unless specifically notified by the District to report.
Subd. 2. In the event of a late start, teachers will report for work at least one (1) hour before anticipated student arrival.
Subd. 3. In the event of an early student dismissal, teachers will remain one (1) hour after students depart, in order to provide supervision in the event that students are returned to the school. In such circumstances, principals/program supervisors may grant permission for teachers to leave based on individual extenuating circumstances.
Emergency Closings. Custodians are required to work when school is not in session due to emergency closing. Alternate hours, if required, will be arranged by the Maintenance Supervisor. In any event, lost hours must either be made up or an employee shall use available vacation, compensatory time or floating holiday.
