School Partnerships. The two Sides welcome the intensification of contacts between Serbian and Austrian schools through school partnerships and the participation in multilateral school networks (e.g. in the Academy of Central European Schools ACES).
School Partnerships. Cutting across outreach and transition to university will be a new intensive school and college partnership scheme both in London and the regions, identified as Access Partner Schools. The OFFA guidance for 2018/19 includes a strong expectation that OFFA will see greater numbers of higher education providers sponsoring schools. The appropriateness of this expectation for small Higher Education Institutions was discussed with the Director of OFFA at his meeting with small and specialist providers in March 2017. On reflection the School’s Senior Management Team determined that this approach was not appropriate for the Guildhall School and investment in this area would significantly detract from its very discipline specific approach to raising attainment in music and the performance arts to counter the declining offer across the state school sector (see section 3). Although the School is one of the smallest HEIs in the UK, it already has a very extensive under-eighteen provision of which just a small proportion is submitted as OFFA accountable. In 2015/16, through Junior Guildhall and CYM centres, over a thousand young people accessed high quality music teaching every Saturday. A further 46 students were involved in a regular acting class, and 130 in the London Schools’ Symphony Orchestra. The CYM regional centres have expanded further into Peterborough and numbers are expected to grow. Additionally, the School is owned by the City of London which is itself a sponsor of a number of academies across Greater London. The School already has a relationship with some of these academies and will be looking to develop its relationships with the secondary-level academies as part of its Access Partner Schools initiative. Outreach and transition to university activities will be targeted at young people in boroughs in the School’s immediate locality and the CYM London’s catchment area. All the local boroughs, bar the City, have a higher proportion of deprived households than the national average.5 Additionally, Creative Learning has a track record of working in the “Gateway” boroughs, which have been a regeneration priority for successive UK Governments since the 1990s and have a greater proportion of black...
School Partnerships. The Participants will maintain and promote partnerships, and in particular educational cooperation projects between their primary schools and secondary schools, through pupil exchanges or by means of information and communication technologies, notably within the framework of the exchange programme between Language Colleges and Sections Européennes (LC-SE) and the Community e-Twinning Programme. In the sphere of vocational education, they will continue to promote training courses for pupils, teachers and head teachers, including those in further education, with a view to developing innovative educational projects. They will develop or strengthen the teaching of the partner’s language. They will jointly organise an annual conference of young people on a chosen topic which shall take place alternately in France and England.
