Head Teachers. 1. The Board shall appoint Head Teachers following the recommendation of the Superintendent or designate.
2. A teacher(s) who is appointed as Head Teacher shall be selected from a listing of teachers assigned to that school who have the necessary qualifications and have expressed an interest, by April 30th of the previous school year, in serving as Head Teacher.
3. Head Teacher positions not filled from within the school will be considered as vacancies and shall be filled according to Article E.23 (Posting and Filling Vacant Positions).
4. Consultation with the affected school staff shall take place prior to the appointment of a Head Teacher.
5. Employees appointed to the position of Head Teacher shall receive two (2) hours per week release time to fulfill the duties and responsibilities of the position.
Head Teachers a. Where a Principal supervises two (2) or more schools, there shall be a Head Teacher in each satellite school with more than one (1) teacher.
Head Teachers. Head Teachers. Department Heads
a. Allowances payable to Head Teachers and Department Heads shall be: 3.5 % of Category 6 Maximum.
b. All Head Teachers and Department Heads shall receive the equivalent of one (1) day per month free from instructional duties to perform the duties of their position. [Note: See Local Letter of Understanding re: Department Heads: Middle and Secondary Schools.]
Head Teachers. Elementary Schools Unit members designated by the Board as head teachers in elementary schools in which an administrator is not ordinarily assigned may receive no less than one thousand five hundred dollars ($1,500.00), depending upon the size of the school and the responsibilities attendant to the assignment. It is expressly understood that this position will carry no responsibility for evaluation or supervision of bargaining unit members.
Head Teachers. The Head Teacher in small, separated school buildings of more than one room, which are administratively parts of larger units, shall receive an allowance of $300 per class with JK/K counting as 0.5.
Head Teachers. When an administrator is out of his/her building during the student attendance day, an administrative designee or one (1) teacher shall be appointed and identified to assume the responsibilities of Head Teacher. If an administrator will be out of the District for longer than three (3) hours during the normal teacher workday, a substitute will be hired for a teacher who serves as Head Teacher. The Head Teacher shall be compensated at the substitute teacher pay rate for either a half or whole day depending on the length of time. If an administrator will be out of the building for less than three (3) hours, or out of the building but within the District during the student attendance day, a substitute will not be hired and the Head Teacher will be compensated at a minimum at the substitute teacher pay rate for a half day only in the event his/her services are required.

Head Teachers. 1. The District shall provide leadership training for head teachers.
2. The job description for head teachers shall be reviewed and revised, if necessary, with the assistance of the Union.
3. Head teachers shall not evaluate members of the bargaining unit.
