Educational Increments and Stipends. 22 Courses or workshops taken for credit or clock hours must meet the following conditions to be approved 23 for salary schedule enhancement: 25 1. The District will allow all, regardless of credits when they are earned, with the following schedule: 27 a. Sixty (60) credits or six hundred (600) clock hours ten cents ($0.10) above salary step 28 b. Ninety (90) credits or nine hundred (900) clock hours twenty cents ($0.20) above salary step 29 c. AA/AS degree twenty-five cent ($0.25) above salary step 30 d. BA/BS degree fifty-cents ($0.50) above salary step 32 2. The employee must get prior approval from their Principal or Administrative supervisor on a form 33 provided by the District. It is the employee’s responsibility to provide documentation to the 34 District in order to receive the enhancement pay. 36 3. The course or workshop must enhance the skills of the employee in his/her present position as 37 opposed to maintaining their position qualifications. Earned credits or clock hours will be re- 38 evaluated if the employee should change classifications. The education increments could stay the 39 same, increase or decrease as a result of the review. 40 4. The decision on approval of clock hours shall lie solely with the Principal and the Administrative 41 Supervisor. All decisions are final and not subject to the grievance process. 42 5. The District will compensate with a wage enhancement of one dollar ($1.00) per hour above 43 employees current rate of pay employees whose position requires DSHS translation/interpretation 44 certification. 45 6. Employees shall receive no less than twenty-five ($0.25) cents per hour above their base pay for 46 translating/interpreting of more than thirty (30) minutes for: IEP meetings, conferences, nurse 47 translation or parent meetings. This will be turned in on a time sheet weekly. The intent is the 48 employee is only paid when they are translating/interpreting not the entire conference.
